The Kansas City Chiefs picked up a dominant 22-9 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday; however, the people are not talking about that moment. Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce, had a heated altercation with coach Andy Reid, which has overshadowed their win.
Kelce struggled in the first half of their Week 3 clash. After one of the final drives of the half, the tight end got involved in a heated argument with the coach on the sidelines. Reid bumped his shoulder into Kelce as he walked off the field while they argued.
After the game, Reid opened up about the incident. The coach ensured that things were fine between both and called Kelce a passionate guy, which makes him appreciate the tight end more.
“Don’t make too much of it. He’s a passionate guy, and I love that part. I’ve been through a lot of things with him, so that’s all part of it. I love that he loves to play the game. That’s what I love. It’s an emotional game, so I’ll take it.”
The Video Of The Heated Argument Went Viral
The heated spat between the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end and the head coach on Sunday went viral on social media. When Kelce made his way to the sideline during the second quarter, a fired-up Reid confronted him about something potentially related to his performance in the game.
This confrontation isn’t the first time these two have exchanged heated words during a game. During Super Bowl LVIII and even last week during the Chiefs’ Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce slammed his helmet and yelled at Reid.
Kelce’s teammate, Patrick Mahomes, recently addressed the controversy and claimed that, despite these arguments, Kelce and Reid love each other. The fans should stop worrying about a major falling out between the two, as they seem to be pretty fine outside the field.
Travis Kelce Has Pressure To Perform
Travis Kelce is seemingly feeling pressure in his NFL career. The veteran recently had his high-profile engagement with Taylor Swift, and numerous other commitments beyond football could be affecting his performance in the field.
The fans assumed his frustrations when he slammed his helmet during the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as his recent heated altercation with head coach Andy Reid. Many also believe that the public fascination with his relationship with Swift has been a major factor behind the pressure.
Despite these challenges, Kelce remains focused on regaining his credibility by trying to improve his game in this current NFL season. He didn’t give his best performance against the Giants this Sunday, and the fans hope for a better showing against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.
