Criterion and EA released a new Need for Speed Unbound gameplay video providing a first look at Speed Race events including Meetups and Side Bets.
Meetups are an underground scene where players can meet up with other street racers to show off their style, custom rides and put their hard earned money on the line. Each meetup gives players the ability to organize races, earn cash for wins and explore new areas of Lakeshore City. Sideline spectators can also participate in the race by placing Side Bets and putting it all on the line for their favorite racer.Ā
The developers also released a new Under The Hood article sharing online multiplayer details, including freeroam, progression, unlocks and more.
Lakeshore City is your playground, so go play. Freeroam is just that – roaming free through the city of Lakeshore, from Kennedy Drive to Edgewater, North Oaks to Lakeshore Quarry. Explore the world of Need for Speedā¢ Unbound with up to 15 other racers on the server. Within Freeroam, you can complete Activities like Drift Zones, Speedruns, Speed Traps, and Jumps, grab Collectibles, or head to Meetups to participate in playlists of events. You can repair your ride at Gas Stations, or dip into a Safe House to upgrade and/or customize your car or driver, or buy/sell some rides. Remember – you gotta pay the cost to be the boss.
Need for Speed Unbound releases on December 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC for $69.99. The Need for Speed Unbound Palace Edition will cost $79.99 and release three days earlier. Created in partnership with Palace Skateboards, the Palace Edition will include four custom cars, clothing packs, driving effects, decals and license plates, character poses and banner artwork.
