NBA 2K25: What Are +1 Badge Perks?

Gaining badges and improving them plays a huge role in helping your MyPlayer achieve his goal of becoming a basketball legend. While many of the badges have returned in NBA 2K25, there were a lot that got removed and some that got new names.

We also got a new tier of badge called “Legend” that surpasses “Hall of Fame” as the ultimate badge tier. You need 99 overall in any of your attributes to get Legend. But no matter how much badges are shuffled around each year, or what new tier is added, one thing remains the same: they’re still very important.

And one new feature that was added for NBA 2K25 are the +1 Badge Perks. Perks were a thing added in NBA 2K24 but +1 is a fresh new thing for ’25. These are nifty little things that can help give one of your badges a little nudge and ascend it to the next level.

So, for example, if you have Rebound Chaser at gold, it’ll automatically ascend to Hall of Fame when choosing it as the badge to benefit from the Perk. However, there are catches you should be aware of.

For starters, these are Season rewards so you’ll have to do a bit of grinding. So for Tier 2 badges, you can get the Perk usually at level 15, which is not bad. However, getting a Tier 2 Badge Perk means you’ll have to grind for level 30 or so. The other thing is that they reset after each Season so you can only enjoy the upgrade for a limited time and then you need to grind for it again in the next Season.

That’s just something to be mindful of, even before you create your MyPlayer. However, you can potentially upgrade a badge or two by using Cap Breakers to push your attributes past their limit but that takes plenty of grinding to get those.

So Badge Perks are nice but are only available for a period of time. And getting level 30 every Season is not necessarily an easy feat and takes time. But at least the Tier 2 Perk is not as much of a grind and can give those badges a little bump.

Also, if you’re willing to spend the cash, you can buy level skips for Seasons. It’s two dollars per skip. Buying skips is something that also began in NBA 2K24 and has carried over to 2K25. It feels only right to note that you can not buy skips for Rep. You need to full-out grind for those particular rewards.
