You can tell the user is still getting used to the game but this is the best video I have seen by far. I actually like that rail cam. I'm a broadcast person all day but I think I'll run with that rail cam a bit.

I agree. Much better video to watch to get an idea of what's changed. Having said that...I will finally concur that it shouldn't be $69.99, but it does seems that they did "a lot" with the MyPlayer and MyNBA modes to get them to that "grey area" to justify the price increase. Since I didn't buy NBA 2K21 for current gen, it's not a big deal for me, but I could see it would be for those people who bought the $100 edition. To me, it should have been $59.99 for current gen then allow people to "upgrade" for the $10 difference.

At least you know when you're getting it. My estimated delivery is currently anywhere between this week and next week.
    - graphics wise, game looks great! although Staples Center looks so faded out,
which I really don't understand why.
    - gameplay wise, after seeing few videos looks really similar to current-gen(and i'm hate saying it)
with a few tweaks. you can't seriously say that they build this game from scratch. it's like 2k don't
    care about NBA 5VS5 anymore.
    - i can says that jumpshots looks way better then 2k20 and 2k21 current-gen (most of them look
twitch and awful! it's like they downgraded them on purpose), but i can also say that when playin
    2k18 and 2k19
Yeah, this is a decent step up but this isn't worth $70 imo as this still screams current gen outside of the higher res models and textures (btw idk what happened to Dwight and Iggy being burnt).
There's SO much that wasn't touched that should've been with the power these consoles have. It's weird because it's like they have attention to detail and then miss so many "relatively" minor things that add up to a lot if that makes sense.

    Exactly what I said!
Its clear 2K just improved the visuals. They worked a little bit on the foot planting but overall its the same game. No wonder they didn't show us more than a 2 minute gameplay clip. Makes sense.

just watched this full video. user is way better, but what i'm worried about is CPU playstyles and tendencies(don't know what level he played). Anthony Davis took only one shot(a driving dunk) the entire game!!!!
at 5:00 mark, lebron's driving to the basket is looking so f***** up.
Danny green kept missing wide open 3's, i'll give 2k credit for this.:lol::lol:

I hear you but I still think it's a solid foundation for things to come this gen. The fact that they finally fixed foot planting and player sliding is HUGE for me.
This year has been crazy for all of us to say the least, so I'm willing to cut them a little slack. Console generation transitions can be sketchy judging off past generations. Being that we still have every feature from this gen & more is a plus in my opinion.
I think our expectations for 2K is sky high & rightfully so due to them setting the bar for sports games. Are there some things that could be addressed? Sure, but the amount of detail & content in this game is astonishing. Can't wait to get my hands on the game.

At all. That trailer led me to believe that we’d at least get a 2k14 level jump in visuals
    Everyone is pretty crazy...
The movement is SO much better than any previous 2k, by far.
Graphics are much improved, better animations.
I still hate how people look when standing around. It's like they get sucked into random stand there and stare into space animations (when hoving around timeouts, or after games).
So there is still improvements to be made but it's much better!

2K is all about hype. Ive been over it for a couple years now. It was getting my attention at first with the Zion trailer but after revealing the “actual gameplay” it doesn’t live up to that Zion graphics quality and I don’t believe it for a second that this was “built from the ground up”
That's the good thing about early raw footage.
Sounds like an easy no buy for a lot of folks. Can't be mad at that. No claiming finesse at this point though. It's all out there.
I'm actually a bit more intrigued from what I've seen. Hopefully someone posts some H2H soon.

That statement is so hilarious. Ronnie should be fired on the spot This is a clear port of current gen. I think what we saw in that initial trailer was a preview of what COULD BE in the coming years with new hardware. But at least for now they can just use the “pandemic” excuse for lack of overhaul/innovation.

Well it’s not only him, the entire team and marketing claims it to be “built from the ground up”. 2K is becoming EA, too arrogant and knowing that consumers will buy whatever to produce no matter what.

The possession starting at 4:55 is everything I've hated about 2K the last few years. Basic side PnR with Bam weakside on Dwight. LeBron gets free with ease and Bam doesn't budge--he's stuck like glue to a non-shooter instead of helping on the best player in the world with a free run to the rim. LeBron even does that awkward unnecessary move in the paint and Bam can't get there in time. So, so bad.

    Yoooo, watch from 21:00 - 23:00
... long story short, They finally upgraded the hell out of the crowd and end of game audio and reacting to the moment in the game.
Still room for improvement but man, what a difference — Great work, 2K!
To anyone buying this (especially those who have it on current gen already), don't get this game and expect anything more than prettier graphics and faster load times. If you're expecting more you're going to be disappointed.
Wait for 2k22. Devs will be able to do a lot more with a full year with the new hardware.

I was about to say the same thing. I love how it popped when Dwight secured the offensive board around 12 seconds and how the crowd reacted to Danny Green missing that 3 late in the 3rd.

I can't wait to get it..started watching these vids on my TV which is 4k - and I also realized another poster pointed out if you capture HDR footage it does look a little bit warshed out - it happened to me as I've uploaded some clips of different games and actually had to colour correct them and boost contrast.
But anyway, watching on my TV I went directly to these youtube vids from playing 2k19 and it is a MASSIVE difference. I'm super impressed and there is NO WAY I can go back to playing after watching these games like this.
I played the 2k21 demo and it isn't just a gfx bump, it's looking better in every way, from presentation t oanimation even the audio, and obviously the lighting is huge.
I have yet to see a series x nba 2k21 with a similar graphic to the official ps5 gameplay video. It's either all of these xbox videos are suffering from stream/capture quality or series x really has inferior graphics.

The crowd does that on current gen. I'm not being cynical when I say nothing looked next gen about those crowd reactions. The biggest difference they have is that there are more models in the crowd, which includes kids. Looks like they don't even wear jerseys anymore let alone specific player jerseys lol.
The Series X is more power and runs the game at a higher native resolution. It's been widely published that Series X loads games faster the PS5.

If you say so, man. I play 12 min quarters on current gen PS4 Pro and the crowd in my game doesn't sound this organic and good. I can only imagine how much more immersive this could be with the haptic feedback controller. I personally haven't even noticed the kids in the crowd until you mentioned it. But if you're not impressed you're not impressed, and that's cool. I won't try to tell you otherwise.
From distance (gameplay wise) it looks like current gen.. but the dribbling and contact look very good. I haven’t notice those sucked in animation... can’t wait too get my hands on this next year 😩

Where did you read or hear this at? Every since 4K was introduced to the mid gen consoles they've both ran at native 4K 60fps (NBA 2K). Why would they change that now, especially given that the PS5 is closer to the Xbox series x in power than the PS4 pro was compared to the Xbox one x. Seems really odd imo.

What nonsense is this? Have you looked at the tech in both systems? If you had then this statement couldn't be anything but trolling.
The graphics (and the colors) are are the last troubles I can see, rather are not the point of discussion.
Speak instead of lack of defense, the new AI of the players, and other stuff concerning gameplay.
    Are you satisfied)??
I'm not at all (for the moment). Waiting for patch and other improvement of the game
Probably the least graphical improvement for a generation jump. Not a knock on this game, just an observation about whether we've come as far as we can in terms of video game graphics. Graphics actually rank pretty low to me in terms of importance. I'm more concerned with gameplay.
That being said, I still think it seems to play about the same as well. That could have to do with the user or the difficulty settings but I still feel like the defense could be better.
MyNBA sounds like it has a lot of potential. I don't know when I'll get to upgrade to next gen. I'm a weirdo, some basketball games just really stick and I can still play today (NBA Live 2004, NBA 2K11, I really liked Live 19). It's not like I feel a need where I HAVE to upgrade. I'm definitely not going to camp out at a store or fight old women over getting consoles for their grandkids. I'll get one when I get one.

You are wrong twice there. Smh.
All these gameplay videos no matter what the console, are struggling with keeping a smooth frame rate. Seeing drops that look as low as 30 or 40fps tbh.
And these are direct feed captures, not streams.

No he's not. Litterally just look up on youtube Xbox ps5 load time test, it's right there.
Do you not do any research before buying a console?
They tested like 20 games and all of them had faster load times on the series X.

To be fair, those games were all backwards compatible games which weren’t patched to leverage the SSD fully. What system actually loads faster won’t be evident until actual next Gen titles are tested but the PS5 is expected to have faster load times. We’ll know in a couple of days in any case.

Im concern that the following is still not in the game and should be a pririty for 1st day patch.
I agree there should be a HUGE day one patch addressing the following:
    - Clothes physics for all moving person inside the arena. (this clothes is not part of their body, especially the torso)
    - Hair movement even for braided ones (Mcgee, Howard for example)
    - Team mates picking up player on the floor.(this is happening all the time in NBA games)
    - Some clippings
    - Body types (this players really need to have some fat on them upper part and lower part)
    - Weight / Gravity (players still hover around as if they floating)
    - Replays (still doesn't show the full highlight with different angles)
    - Halftime show (nothings new???????)
    - A.DAVIES UNDERSHIRT
    - Crowd reaction still not sync to whats happening.
    - Arena sound and commentator is not Sync.
    - with 150 new crowd animation i was hoping that they can show crowd dancing, wilding out, showing them in the big screen while on time out or cut scene while on charity strike.
    - Player appearance for some as its obvious.
    - CPU off ball collision non existence.
    - Players altercation for too much body contact.
    - Player not finishing their dribble as if the ball is stick to the hands.
    - Head pass when players 2 inch away is still happening need to be remove.
Please make this a priority comment and make a discussion about this for the 2K Devs to notice this as it will help the game more, this is for all of us whose into NBA strictly.

Just want to clear up some points here
This is only half the truth . In theory the Xbox is more powerful but not by a huge margin . The ps5 system works slightly different in a way that could power on par with series X.
Games will pretty much run the same resolution on both consoles. 2k is native 4K/60 on both consoles .
Xbox series X loads games backwards compatible faster. Games that are optimized for the PS5’s SSD will actually load faster than series X.
Again we’ll talking marginal numbers here .
The real difference 2k wise is probably going to be the haptics of the ps5 controller .
YouTube compression kills the visuals . You’re not seeing full 4K / 60 FPS . Some videos are even 1080p.
Not one video has uploaded in hdr which is just as if not even more game changing than 4K. These new console games are made for hdr compared to last gen only “supporting it”
    lakers24

Yeah have no idea what they're looking at or hearing. Crowd has been doing that for donkey's years in 2K. Except in previous 2Ks you could actually see the crowd clapping their hands and stomping their feet when they chanted "Defense!". In the video, the crowd were just sitting there completely motionless. Crowd audio is the same it's been for about 11 years.
I noticed a few things here and there that made the players look a bit robotic with their movements.
Other than that the game looks good
    Optik
Crowd audio is the same it's been for about 11 years.

Crowd audio is not the same. Still needs improvements but not the same. They have better reactions to certain situations. Gotta listen to the people with the game that played multiple games. Not videos. I clearly hear a difference when I'm playing. Also the game is awesome. Blows current out the water
    skinnybonez
    - Will have HDR off..those washed out colors yikes
    - from pc coming back to console, players models are awful..im spoiled lol
    - the user playing lmao

That’s exactly how I feel. Player models look so bad now, and even cloth physics aren’t the same.

I feel you on this. I usually don't buy a new console until something blows my mind (or a price drop) and this just isn't doing it.
I can see improvements and I'm sure there's more I'd have to feel, but I'm generally more or less just whelmed by it all. If I didn't know better, someone probably could have convinced me this was just a new 2K on XBox One.
If this really was just a new 2K on current gen that I could buy for $60, I bet I'd give it a whirl. But knowing it'd require a new system and a more expensive price tag, my expectations go up alongside and this doesn't hit that threshold for me. I see so many of those familiar 2Kisms happening that it all just feels like a sequential iteration more than a revolution or breakthrough.
2k22 it is for me. Not seeing the AI improvement I hoped for. Still some of the same legacy issues in the game as well. Why do players still try to close out to the 3pt line in their defensive stance? Why do players still go under screens on good 3pt shooters? Why do players still awkwardly stand still dribbling at the 3pt line until the shot clock gets to 1 if the play they ran to start the possession doesn't get completed? Players still also don't hit the right spots in transition and do a bad job of avoiding screens off ball on defense. Its like the only way plays work is if the CPU on D purposely has to allow his man to break free by waiting for a screen to be set before giving chase.
Might need to wait 2 years to see AI improvements because this game looks like the gameplay I've been accustomed to with improvements in fidelity and animation blending. The important thing for me is how the computer replicates real basketball and I don't think they made much progress from all the vids I've seen. I'm sure the game plays well and the player v player gameplay is solid but thats not enough. Especially with all the great games coming out now and in the coming months

F*ck what everyone is talking about. This game is GOOD. You HAVE to play it to believe it. I've been playing PNO, and the AI has been on point for the most part. Sometimes, I don't like when my center does a hard hedge and give up the roll man, but that's an adjustment that I can make in the defensive settings.
