1974 – Bill Walton, Jamaal Wilkes, Maurice Lucas, George Gervin, and more
1976-2017 – ALL of the modern NBA!
You have the option of importing one of these classes at the start of every NBA season.
This is fantastic. Meaning that if I don't like the way this year's draft turned out, I can rewrite it myself.
I really hope this means that hair/facial hair colors will have full RGB control. I hate the Brown, Light Brown, Dark Blonde, etc. options that they have now, as none of them are anywhere close to my own hair color. Full RGB control would be awesome.
Sculpting sliders being readded is very welcome as well. Now if they can just add in some different hair textures for the shorter buzz/fade options, I might be able to make myself look like myself lol.

I usually turn trades off because honestly I'm not a big fan of in-season trading but I actually do appreciate the trade sliders feature. Sounds really cool for those who keep trades on. Progression sliders also sound neat.
Historical draft classes sound awesome too but I'm wondering about the extent of how far they go. Obviously, a lot of drafted players never made it to the NBA.
Isn't that already in 2K18?

Could you elaborate? I am at work and cannot watch. Thanks!
Probably, I likely forgot that it was.

It seems to be the latter. There's a line in the Forbes article that you can tell will end up linking to the official blog once it's posted too.

First things first THANK YOU to great Franchise Dev team at 2K starting from Erick Boenisch to leftosa and davez and so on... Thank you all it was a great experience in 2K18, it looks like to be even better in 2K19. Mad props for all.
First question out of the blue is ofcourse about MLO.
What admin abilities are added other than tickers in terms of shaping our leagues and controlling ability about everything from setting up games to setting up how many teams in a league or setting up teams to different conferences or setting up editing or ability to take a player from one team to another if i want or setting controller settings for all or assigning admin power differentiating like one admin can only reset games other can edit players etc. or or or.. So yeah overall what kind of new abilities we have as the commish of our created league. :y220d:
So overall can a commish in MLO act like in ML offline for setting up teams trades on its own even the other team has a user fe.
I think i'm freakin happy now.. Lol... I'm a 33 years old little boi.. :D

My gaming time is becoming more and more limited, but since the MyL team has focused on addressing things in the mode I've been asking them to tackle for the last couple of years, I feel like I need to recognize that by buying the game at release, even if I don't have much time to play it for a while.
I encourage others who have had these same complaints to do the same, and to talk about it today on twitter with @beluba dn #simnation in their posts.
Thanks to Eric, Davez, Leftos and others for listening and working to improve the things we've been asking for. You didn't try to solve the problems we identified in the way I was recommending or asking about, but you know the technology, and you set about to address them in another way that should still allow the player to create the simulation experience they want.
Kudos and thanks to you all.
There will be growing pains I imagine with all the new features added in but I sincerely hope 2K tested this thing hard this season; with all they added into MyLeague, it'd be a shame if people had to wait because a gamebreaking bug was discovered on Day 1.
We'll see how it all looks live but, at least on (digital) paper, it looks stupendous. Customization is the name of the game and 2K brought it out in full force this year.
As for my personal CAP DNA - hello, rookie Larry Bird :bump:
A lot of this is for the very, very hard core.
Some of these options are even over my head....goodness...

Sounds like this year will be a huge step forward in terms of Rosters Building and Player Progression/Regression.
We can now adjust Progression/Regression for every attribute - this is huge for me, was on my wish list for years, finally no more declining in IQ-Attributes or Attributes like Passing (or at least I can now control the regression) :59:
Also love the historic draft classes.
Man every year I want to skip NBA 2K, but every year the MyLeague blog gets me.
As for my personal CAP DNA - hello, rookie Larry Bird :bump:
Oh yeah, the amount of wish-fulfillment in this is HUGE. Admittedly, we're likely to miss a few important legends (Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller, to name a few) but the vast majority of the best historical players -- or at least the best, most well known -- should be represented.
And -- this is a total assumption -- but if we have the ability to import historical draft classes of historical players, one would hope that 2K took the time to run the historical player models through the new CAP system to polish them up some (because, let's face it, some of the legends look better IRL right now than their digital models have in the last few years).
I missed this... So, there is CAP sharing?
Only question I have is are CAP's shareable through 2K share this year?
Yes you can share CAPS!!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yes you can vann.
Yea i mean i wonder if it's in or not as it's a big part of MLO running,too..

I believe they said you can add CAPs to historical draft classes so hopefully with the improved CAP system we will be able to create some accurate looking players to fill I'm the missing players. Looking forward to seeing what the community is able to create with the new tools.
Looks confirmed from what he said:
You may find this handy when creating a draft class and you want to create a player in the mold of another player. Or perhaps you just want to create yourself while giving yourself every detail of LeBron’s game. This is yet another feature created at the request of you, our fans; we look forwarding to see what you can all do with it!
This was an incredible read... I am an avid Myleague fan and some things stood out.
* Cant wait to see the list of rule changes they have available (1-16!!!)
* The mentor ship feature is amazing... I was hoping for some edits to how a guy can acquire some badges.
* Importing historical draft classes is amazing
* CAP being fixed is good (did it talk about editing wingspan?)
I am all kinds of amped up. I look forward to being an active member of the forum for 2k19
Go Celtics!
I would buy the game in a heart beat if you can drop the amount of teams to 12 lol
My fall back plan has always been to create a women's college basketball roster but I really don't have the time to edit 30 teams lol
If they ever make it to where you can decrease the amount of teams then I'll finally be able to make my WNBA roster and my ACC roster, and I'll be all set for life lol
And am i allowed to cry for joy? as i'm speaking with Ame at the same time thru WP and we're like "We made it!" LOL! Ahaha it's our time now! :D
MLO FOR LIFE!
1. Summer League formatted to reflect real life tournament structure.
2. Teams that do not make the playoffs can be placed in their own tournament with the winner receiving the # 1 draft pick.
That is a very good point. The new CAP tools should help bridge the gap for legends that are missing -- assuming the draft classes are fully editable outside of MyLeague (and that's a safe assumption because who edits the classes in MyLeague? That's a painstaking process), than in theory users can recreate legends that are missing and do so without having to resort to less-than-ideal workarounds (like renaming Monta Ellis to Reggie Miller). The below from Mazique emphasizes that:

#2 is incredible! Personally I would love this to be how it is handled in real life
2. Teams that do not make the playoffs can be placed in their own tournament with the winner receiving the # 1 draft pick.
I love this idea. I wouldn't want it to happen in the real NBA, but in the game it sounds incredibly fun to fight it out for that #1 pick.
2. Teams that do not make the playoffs can be placed in their own tournament with the winner receiving the # 1 draft pick.
I'm definitely doing this. I just hope it works well with the 1-16 seed format as well. All of this stuff sounds great but I'm expecting a few things to not work properly at launch.
No other sports title is giving you this level of detail and replay value in a mode.

Lol this idea in real life would be bad. Imagine the Nuggets missing the playoffs and then getting the first pick because the demolish the other non playoff teams
I can't wait to dive into the full blog but everything I have read is honestly too much. Bravo!!!
Lol good point
Maybe they could have the bottom 2 teams go head to head for the #1 pick. That would be an intense game

I can't grasp all and think what it really means imported offline to MLO in full flesh, i just can't i need answers, lol. :D :D :D
I'm truly astounded by the depth surrounding the mode, and how the team listened to the complaints, listened to the feedback, and FIXED what we were asking for.
No for real, 2K? I'm speechless right now. I just read through this thing for the first time and I don't even think I can comprehend what I just saw. It's going to take me at least 4 times to really digest everything.
Historical draft classes though? Come on, son.
A tournament to determine who gets the #1 pick in the draft?
Editing trade values?
Man, I can't. They already got my $100. I'd give them $200 just based on this info alone. Outdid yourselves yet again.
They really did some great things here and took the criticism seriously. I am not an expert slider person, but I know some of you are and I cannot wait to include your tinkering into my own MyLeague.
This was just an incredible piece of work by the team.
It often frustrated me whe nI hear people say they dont listen to the community. I think they do, I think they are just strategic about how the implement and when they implement. For example, MLO could have been done last year, but maybe they needed the trial of some new features so that it didnt go completely screwy.
Either way, they clearly had the full MLO immersion on a long term trakc. While it sucked to wait, I think it's going to go smoothly and can't wait to be apart of it.
Well done 2k!
This is probably the most underrated addition from comments I've seen online.
I personally love this kind of stuff. I'm a Raptors fan and I love how Kawhi is now going to be able to mentor OG in real life with his sky-high perimiter D potential. Now I can do it in the game! Friggin awesome.
It adds a lot of immersion if you want to build a certain style.

Ya, definitely a cool edition. Maybe it's worth signing the 41 year old Vince Carter now to a 1 year contract like IRL...

"Siri, play God Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts"
This idea is absolutely amazing and the NBA should adapt this rule immediately. Throw all lottery teams into a pool. Completely randomize who plays who to minimize teams trying to purposely be the 9th seed in their conference and think they have a easy path to the Final. Make it a one-off tourney right after the NBA Finals ends and you have a two week NBA-March Madness tourney for the #1 draft pick. Please tell me there are no drawbacks to this!!!!
Agreed. I'm interested to see how it works, but I have some high hopes.
Speculation: I believe that's referring to the High Work Ethic and Legendary Work Ethic mental badges, already in the game -- though perhaps they've taken that and made it an actual attribute (possibly as an addition or replacement to Intangibles within the player's attribute record).
Ah yeah, you're probably right. I forgot about those.
Correct.

Excited to rock my Mavs in My League.
Wouldn't that promote even more parity? Instead of a 20 win magic team getting the pick, it goes to a 40 win nuggets team, that with the addition of that #1 pick now propels to the 4th seed next year, and possibly takes on the top teams.
Sent from my Z981 using Operation Sports mobile app
Then what happens to the Magic? They're terrible for another year, and with no hope of getting a top pick. Teams might stay terrible for decades.

I talked with Brian about this, he didn't say anything about the shorts, but did say a lot of what you read in this article is the "basics" and that there could be video on create aspects coming soon.
From the video though- REALLY EXCITED about possibly getting in game injuries now. its been absent for a few years
I m a football fan who loves franchise mode in any sports game and i dont like watch nba specialy the way that the competion works, but this game is insane good, the ea madden **** looks like 10-year-old game compared to, the options and customization that this game has is crazy, i sure this make a lot of fans who dont watch nba maybe be a potential fans in future, good for the NBA to allow this customization and imersion, the NFL is too extrictly with the options to add to games.
this game is a preorder for sure
For example i wonder if we have the same ability in MLO.
Believe me that back 2k14 i guess i was trading old guys in Online League just for this purpose like i remeber that i traded Derek Fisher in for Irving to get more mature and ofcourse i know that this didn't affect at all then yet now, wow. So is it in MLO,too? Please....

Yeah, he also specifically said in the blog, "import everything about any player (past or present)" which leads me to believe that he was talking about actual players and not MyPlayer face scans.

Yeah I mentioned the same thing in the CAP system thread. It seems like it might be the case, although he could have thought that Brian was talking about MyPlayer face scans.
-Glad to see we have the option to play GM Mode without having to follow the story aspect.
-The historical draft classes sound like a great addition.
-Mentorship component could be really cool.
That would solve a ton a problems the system has with making face scans look weird.
I was trying to think of what to say, but this is so overwhelmingly deep that i woke up just going
- Thank You Eric,Leftos, daveZ and whomever else we don't know about.
You guys are the pure expression of #SimNation
- Im happy for the MLO online guys who have patiently and frustratingly waited for this moment. Play and never look back.
- This mode is like a game all by itself and there is no way you should even let stale or lazy come out of your mouth... add innovative in there though while you're at it.
You could literally just play with the options the mode offers and not touch the game for days. There is no way you can see this and not see us simplayers still being represented at 2k.
There are just too many things named here to even comment on, but kudos to the team. THIS is how you open a show! Looking forward to the rest of the team releasing equally mind blowing blogs.
So many features in this blog that there are some that will be completely underrated but a massive addition to the game.
Thanks SIMballer and crew... I can see the passion and MJ like psychotic affinity for winning in this one.
Oh and I gotta throw a gif in there for my man LD2K
PRORDER #NBA2K19 Now!
September 7th Please, HURRY
1- We can create a lineup like the Hampton Five. Can this be done within a roster? If so, will the CPU use it?
2- Erick says he helped work on another area and am I reading into this that he said that after the lineups? Or was that just the end of the blog and a quick note? I am hoping that they worked on the substitution logic. Advanced rotations, deep bench guys subbed in in late blowout games to assure sim stats for the whole team, etc... If bench guys get hot do they (CPU teams) ride them out a bit? I am really hoping this is what Erick was talking about. Regardless wherever he go's and whatever he touches I know it will be well done!
On-The-Fly Lineups
This is a quick and nifty little feature that allows you to set quick lineups for different types of situations (Quickness/Fast players, Best Defenders, Best 3-PT Shooters, Best Free Throw Shooters, A full Bench lineup, Your Tallest Players, and a Custom lineup slot that you can use to make your own On-The-Fly Lineup). These lineups are all easily customized by you, the user, and are very easily accessed in-game by pressing down to activating the On-The-Fly-Coaching (OTFC) feature. I’ve found these to be very helpful and simple to use.
P.S. This is not the last you will hear from me this year. I’ve actually spent a lot of time helping to revitalize another aspect of the game that I am incredibly eager to tell you about (and I will!). Stay tuned and I’ll see you again before the game launches on September 7th!
Finally we are able to share single players via CAP, simply amazing...
Whew
For MyLeague and MyGM alone, I'm buying this game.
I've never played MyLeague Online in prior years and didn't see it mentioned in the blog (maybe I missed it though).

This could be an awesome feature, if it works correctly.

What I think would be kind of cool and this is obviously hypothetical but if the NBA had the lottery immediately after the season ended. Then the top 4 teams (bottom 4 teams) had like 1 game survive and advance final 4 like for the top 4 picks from the lottery. Maybe you do this for the top 8 teams? This eliminates the Nuggets example as having a shot as they barely missed the playoffs. Then you could feasibly play these games 1 week after the season. The way it's constructed now with lottery a month or 2 after the season it's not even feasible. It would be interesting and avoid tanking and add some drama... Just a thought and fantasy thinking out loud...
You serious dawg?
You must've not been around here much to even know what that means

Doesn't matter if I don't understand some reference, a lot of people won't either. You're getting ahead yourself. Sure this is great for franchise guys, but there are so many aspects of the game.
Do not pre-order anything, don't be fooled again year after year.

Did I say any other game produces as good as a franchise mode as 2K does... no. What they've done is amazing, but we're talking about pre-orders man. What's much of an amazing franchise mode if the gameplay isn't any good.
I don't know what it is, but a lot of old users on here tend to defend the game way too much. Any criticism is shot down immediately. Year after year people get fooled into pre-ordering, just don't do it. Wait and see how the rest of the game is before deciding.
I’d be totally cool if we get ability to edit short length and never get another classic team again. The community will takeover the classic teams.

I've never been an online player but I have been streaming on Twitch and would love to get into an MLO league with other twitch streamers. Could be so much fun. Imagine having a draft with all the teams live streaming on twitch.......
Would love to see this for MyCareer too, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Hopefully this means they updated everyone's headshots. No more outdated four year old headshots when we go into a simulated game.

I for one am highly critical in voicing my opinion on things I think can be added, things that need looking into, areas I think they can improve, etc... BUT, when props are due you give it, and props are most definitely due in this scenario and from this blog alone! That being said 2K has earned our trust IMO and is always adding on multiple areas of the game. If you compare other AAA titles that didn't even add in all modes what 2K just added in 1 area of their game. LOL! I can't wait for DaCzar & OG's gameplay & AI blogs now, but I know with 1000% certainty I will probably have the same feeling I had in reading this blog and not be left disappointed. I get what you are saying in wait and see to hear all the news before making a buying decision, but for me and with 2K's track record I'm buying regardless to support the devs, the game, and the dedication they show in a yearly cycle year in and year out! It's incredible how much they add in that time. I have always been a guy who would want 100 things done every year that are new that can be built on in the future as opposed to adding just 3-5 things that were fully fleshed out and never touched on for another 4-5 years. Add to all that, this is an area a lot of gamers care about and where they spend maybe 100% of their time. If this is your thing and where you will be 99% of the time this is absolutely a pre order from reading this blog.
But, to each their own...
No, that's the wisest choice and one I'm doing as well. All the props and compliments to the MyLeague team this year (and virtually every year since 2K16 on), but I remember launch last year and BOY was it rough.
MyLeague wasn't really ready to go until about a month after the game came out, and even then there were lingering issues that didn't get solved.
We need gameplay to be revealed, then we need it tested by people who know it (SamPham), and then we need to see how MyLeague actually plays. All the features they added are amazing on paper, but every new thing added to something like this has a chance to throw off something else; there's lot of complex code involved here.
I'm on the "Wait and See" approach. Frankly, this fall is just loaded with games that deserve attention so I'm punting on an early order and we'll see where the game stands in November, when the first set of (inevitable) patches hit.
But that does nothing to take away from the effort put into it. I'm passing on a preorder not as a form of protest, I'm just not convinced after the miserable experience last year and after being an early adopter the last three years ... I need a damned break, lol. 2K18 is still doing fine for me in MyLeague.
But, to each their own...
I've found some fantastic things in that blog, mentorship seems really fun and interesting, probably the thing I found the best there, also it seems to me that they are not using those in action whole body pics that they've been using for the last couple of years but they are using photos from chest to above, I really hate these portraits they've been using, I also hope these pics don't become generic if you trade players.
But I agree with peacemanNOT that the gameplay is the most important thing and MyLeague just doesn't work for me if I find the gameplay lacking.
Regarding the blogs, I was so hyped after Scotts blog last year where he was talking about how the defense is improved and smart and sophisticated just to be disappointed later and at the end it made the game too easy for me. I knew that If I needed a win I could just play that game instead of simulating it and most of the times I'd win even if I was facing a superior team.
This blog was great, but I think everybody who isn't sure if he/she should buy the game should wait for the demo.

Exactly my thoughts but I think you were able to put it into better words. Just because I'm not pre-ordering doesn't mean I don't appreciate the effort 2k put in. All of this stuff sounds amazing and I absolutely appreciate it as an almost exclusively offline MyLeague guy. I just want to be able to head into it without having to restart because of something not working properly. I had to restart my MyLeague a few times last year in the first month because of cloning players and it was definitely aggravating. The feature of drafting foreign players that play overseas a few more years was definitely worth some of the aggravation though. I used it a couple times and it definitely paid off into helping to build my team.

I get it... Whats crazy though is I didn't get the experience a lot of others did with gameplay. When you really dive into the sliders for gameplay or with coaching adjustments for the CPU in my league I guarantee you a lot of complaints can be fixed. Things like help defense, playbooks, etc. I had the best CPU playing games I have ever had in a 2K game that felt like I was playing another USER. I didn't have blow by issues with sliders and if it did happen the team help defense slider (which you could only adjust in my league) provided a completely different experience as opposed to not editing it. I'd run into a shot blocking big and very rarely have a open lane or wide open roll man on the PNR. But in fairness it was heavily edited. The great part with 2K is the customization they give us not just in my league but in all areas of the game through sliders. It is really unprecedented territory as deep as they go to give us those tools. Other games don't have 5% of the sliders 2K give us to customize our experience. I just think most people don't go down that path which is why I see the differences in opinions that vary imo. But again to each their own. I will be diving in on September 7th, but I DO understand the skepticism you refer to in waiting. I might be in minority (actually I know I am) but I rarely play the game for the 1st month or 2 anyways as I'm tweaking things so I guess by the time I really start playing (when playbooks are tested & done for every team as well as finding a good slider set for myself) then some areas are already fixed through a patch...
Oh yes, I'm doing a complete rebuild of the Suns this time around and am using that feature, as I imagine they intended it -- when I started my ML last October, that feature was still wonky (I recently concluded that a month ago), so this version of ML plays like a whole new one to me! So many things that are working as I expected day 1 with 2K18.
I hope against hope we don't have a lot of that this time around -- I know they'll likely be some minor bugs and glitches, as there always are, but I really want people to get a great day 1 experience, just so the narrative of "2K suks game is sameaz last yr! Roster updtae trash!" can be firmly put to bed.
2K is the standard for sports gaming -- yes, even over MLB the Show, whose recent iterations have been more stagnant, IMO. Everyone is at least two years behind them and that standard of excellence should be recognized, not compared to EA who's just FINALLY starting to understand that franchise players are still important after spending the near-last decade kicking them in the nether-regions.
As for my personal CAP DNA - hello, rookie Larry Bird :bump:
does this mean i can finally look like Iverson now??? if so..i want to cry now..

Thank you 2K! These new improvements sound incredible! Now, if I could just hear what improvements have been made to jersey and arena creations....
Create a player in Mylegaue and let CPU handle everything and player lock on your created player. If your on PC u can even copy your mycareer roster into mylegaue and keep your personal cyberface. Its honestly the best way to play a real "career mode" without all the story crap.
Yeah man, If gameplay is going to back up all of this and If I find it awesome 2k19 is going to be such a blast. Just when I think of what could community do with all these possibilities, draft classes, sliders and everything. Come on guys from 2k tell me defense is hugely improved
I would think normal rookie ratings with high potentials
I've never played MyLeague Online in prior years and didn't see it mentioned in the blog (maybe I missed it though).
My question is the opposite: if we only have 12 guys that want to be in a league, can we create a league with just 12 teams in it? This used to be how 2K's online leagues worked a long, long time ago and I always preferred it that way personally.

Oh well, I'll get over it. I'll definitely be trying to set aside enough time to invest in an online league this year. :bil:

Can we rebrand the logo and court for All-Star Weekend?
Me,too. And experience speaking that the sweet number is 24 for an MLO to be completely active and ongoing all the time on my end for years..
If we can already expand to 32 why not narrow it down to 24 fe. right :)
Can we rebrand the logo and court for All-Star Weekend?
Can we play All-Star game in MLO? My question would be as a team-up event in MLO?
I'm still puzzled as to what really all offline MyLeague is now Online MyLeague saying, is it really true? LOL, it's a great feeling to be puzzled like that.
A lot of this is for the very, very hard core.
Some of these options are even over my head....goodness...

Anyone who says that just hasn't be paying attention for the past few years. I tell people every year that 2K listens when it comes to MyLeague, just make sure you get in Davez wish-list thread early enough and if it's within reason they'll try to get it in.
In 2k19 they pretty much knocked off half of my Top 10 wants. I'm not 100% sure about all of them yet but it looks like I can check off #1-4 & 10.
..and the crazy thing is is that they do this pretty much every year. I mean, I'm really going to have to think outside of the box this year to come up with 10 things. I'll certainly try though. :59:
Kudos to Erick, Davez, Leftos and company you guys really are the real MVP's. :cheers444
A question for you MLO guys... does any sort of companion app or website like DaddyLeagues work with 2K online? If so, since online and offline virtually the same I might consider doing a solo online MyLeague if I can view my Myleague stats, standings, etc. online.
not that i know of.
Hopefully we can customize hair and facial hair from the MyPlayer menu as per usual this year, rather than the microtransactional nature of 2K18.

Obligatory post in three ... two ... one ...
you are right about that. i have found that with some tweaking of sliders i've had games that are more interesting than real life NBA.

That would definetly bring alot of realism to the game.
But that's another topic for another day. Today's MyLeague news was by and large incredible. I'm hoping I understood the Create-a-Player DNA thing right (the ability for other to upload those DNA's for other users to download). It'd be so nice to have that back.
Thes draft classes will be editable so that you’re able to fill in the gaps for players 2K doesn’t have a license to use. I still don’t know if the players from the draft classes will be accessible in any other aspect of the game for roster building. You will, however, be able to edit the legends, but not their ages.
This is probably the only thing that I’m worried about. We can’t edit legends age again. I hope that’s only for the legend draft classes.
All the other things are just amazing. 2K get better year after year

Execution is always key but the idea of all this is so amazing.
being able to fine tune regression/progression is amazing. I've long complained about older players losing IQ when they should be only losing athleticism type attributes. And younger players shouldn't be gaining vertical at 21. That's peaked 999/1000 times IRL.
All this stuff sound so amazing.
If this all works, or at least 80%, then well done to 2k. I've been hard on the game for 3 years now, but this all sounds spectacular and kudos to them for listening to franchise fans and not just the folks paying for micro transactions.
U ever think that just maybe the NFL is much stricter when it comes to making of a game then the NBA?
couldnt agree more
2k takes features that are already great and somehow makes them even better every year yet Madden can't fix their broken modes year in and year out. as a fan of both games its always bittersweet reading the nba 2k blogs - im always so thrilled by the new additions, a bunch of community requests get answered, and they even add in things I didnt even know I wanted, but at the same time find myself getting frustrated while reading about them because I wish Madden would get the same treatment.
Totally agree. All these customizations are fantastic but I always had trouble with immersion. I want the announcers to call out the league leader in scoring, talk about who won the championship, new free agent signing, next game, winning streaks ect
Just make it feel more immersive. Add something other than "the golden state warriors have won the nba championship" cut scenes, parade idk. Myleague is great but it can improve on presentation a lot.
2 more things. More stat overlays. Way more. Also add a super fast option for simcast live. Simcast live is great but slow. It also shows replays without playing unlike regular simcast.
kidding lol
NBA sim fans have it really good.

It sounds like the Player DNA feature might come to the rescue for this. It sounds like you can copy everything, from the attributes to the tendancies to (most importantly) their appearance. If it works the way I'm imagining then you can copy them and then edit the ages.
Hopefully they can release a video on that.

no, i just think EA is lazier.
seriously, all the **** they had in Madden 05/06 is gone from Franchise these days.
seriously, all the **** they had in Madden 05/06 is gone from Franchise these days.
Actually, I think the NFL is much, much stricter than the NBA. And part of that has to do with the dynamics of the NFL, as the players union there doesn't have nearly the sway and public pull that the NBA players union does. In the NFL the owners are kings and the NFL players are just their very well-compensated pawns.
In the NBA, the revenue split between the owners and players is about 50/50, and the contracts of the players -- for most of them -- are fully guaranteed. That gives the players much more security and allows them to exert their influence without fear of retribution, which can't be said in the NFL as any player that steps out of line will get blackballed/cut and the NFL players union doesn't have much it can do about it.
So, I don't 100% think it's EA's fault that Madden is the way it is. Certain aspects of the game and certain things about the game are designed so the NFL can only be seen in the best light, regardless of whether it is reality. I would say it's probably a 60/40 split in favor of EA (because, let's face it, they have a history across multiple game genres of doing bad things), but the NFL certainly has a set of strict guidelines they impose on EA.
That said, despite those guidelines, EA has put Madden on PC this year for the first time in forever and I fully expect the community to mod the hell out of that game into something amazing. I don't believe Madden will reach that level out of the box for many years, if ever, and that's due to a lot of the NFL restrictions that likely exist.
Only if the NFL also determines what EA is able to add to their other sports games too.
I do think the NFL is somewhat stricter, but it's a common theme across all of their games.

eh, from what i've read from FIFA players on PC it's nearly impossible to mod FIFA so I don't have high hopes for anything positive coming out of Madden.
i won't be buying Madden this year but if someone manages to mod it to get an actual franchise mode, then i'll pirate it somewhere for sure.
Disagree with those blaming NFL for Madden's shortcomings. Yeah they cant put some things in because of the NFL but that doesnt mean they cant have a realistic line, a good progression system, functioning team AI or QB AI ,etc

It needs to be said that this almost certainly isn't the devs' fault.
Remember that lawsuit years ago, from tattoo artists claiming copyright/trademark rights to their tattoo designs?
I can't blame Visual Concepts for wanting no part of THAT bull.
Your MyPlayer is the same as always. You can't put tats on created players, though.

Erick said something about tech limits or something. Like its difficult having a league full of user CAPS with tats. MyPlayer is one thing, having that apply to the full league (if you want) is a little more difficult. It's in the Mazique YouTube video. Anytime I see a player without hit tats though I figure it has something to do with the artist and rights.
So I get where they are coming from. PS5 maybe?
1. Facescan/Uploading faces on CAP (For Myleague and MyGM mode)
2. YEAR TO YEAR SAVE!!!
Being a mlb the show player this feature is golden!!! Having the ability to take your time and watch your hard work develop is awesome. Watching a prospect develop into an all star level player is priceless. I dont sim i try to play every game. Having year to year saves in 2k will be a great addition. I like having the latest version of the game but I hate starting my franchise over every single year

In regards to the year to year saves its addressed in the blog,, basically so much is changed each iteration that it's not really possible.
