  1. To Milestone, Monster Energy, Feld Entertainment, everyone involved with AMA Supercross & and all the fans of our great sport.
Not many of you know but I have worked a bit in video game development, mainly with the NHL2K series and more recently with a MX game series. Not the technical/development side but more the game design/idea implementation side of things. So I dig this stuff. In particular when it comes together with my passion for MY favorite sport and lifestyle, Supercross and Motocross.
With the announcement of Monster Energy Supercross The Official Video Game coming February 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch....well, yesterday was a big day for me and for my sport. So I wanted to say thanks to all the people at Milestone, Monster Energy, Feld Entertainment and all involved with AMA Supercross.
Milestone, for the first time in 20 years and basically ever, has now announced a game that replicates our Monster Energy AMA Supercross series with 100% authenticity in riders, bikes, tracks, teams, points series, stadiums and riding gear. First. Time. Ever.
A full championship mode, a true career mode, full race replays and intuitive control using rear brake, shifting, an unparalleled ground physics game and cornering. 22 riders at the gate and on a proper scaled track at a believable, realistic game speed. An AI that is challenging and, most importantly, intelligent to run competent lines. Milestone's games have good collision detection. You can have some great battles on the track, in the corners.
A game that visually looks stunning and is meticulous in detail right down to every official rider's name and number font being 100% perfect on their bike and gear. I'm loving Malcolm Stewart's SICK looking Seven gear, btw, Milestone. :) Great additions to their MX franchise such as tv style on screen rider running order presentation, a track editor and who know what other greatness is in here.Every logo on every rider and bike look perfect. Every sponsor. The stadiums look incredibly well replicated as do all the sponsor tough blocks and banners. This looks like the NBA2K of our sport.
A game that is 100% Monster Energy Supercross...right down to the title!! THAT is important.
I am SO thankful to Milestone because they must be magicians. They just gave us the game that we were told in the past 10 years was impossible.
Excuse my Milestone fanboy-ism. For someone who's number 1 priority is authenticity and official licensing as well as great, realistic game play and actually replicating our sport's official series...yeah, well they knocked it out of the park.
If you a fan of Monster Energy Supercross, you basically just got your dream game handed to you. And, with support, the franchise will grow and continue as shown by Milestone's other sports series. Again, we've never had this for our sport of Supercross. Please don't take it for granted. Support Milestone and support Monster Energy Supercross The Official Video Game.
To anyone from Milestone, Monster Energy, Feld Entertainment and AMA Supercross reading this....thanks so much for making this game happen!!! I've been waiting for this game for over 20 years!
Great post hrudey32......It's awesome that this is FINALLY happening.
Seems like the core group of MX fans here have been wishing for this for about 10 of those 20 years :)
Great interview with someone from Milestone about the development of Monster Energy Supercross The Official Video Game. I love how he says it was made FOR the supercross fans. At the same time there are regular settings for the mainstream but Pro settings for the hardcore fans.
THAT is how you do it. You make it for the fans of the sport, first and foremost, but also have ways the casual person can enjoy it as well.

Track editor is huge. Back in the days of Motocross Madness 2 on the PC I had over 500 tracks. There were some good track creators out there, I'm sure there will be with this game as well.
Milestone have put Supercross elements into their recent MXGP games. It's great to see them go all out for a fully licensed stand alone title.
Digital pre order is now available on US...PSN.
    Standard and Deluxe versions.
Pre order gives you some ingame rider gear and a theme.
Deluxe version includes the season pass of 10 bucks.

I normally would jump on this but I want to see if it will be in 4k on the Xbox 1. I may end up getting it there unless we can get some guys on the PS4 that may want to race online together.
EDIT: I just watched the video on the PS4. Game looks great. Can’t wait for this.

I would be willing to give the online a shot on ps4
Wait a minute, there's a Supercross game coming out? I have a birthday just over a month after this game comes out, I'm picking this up as a birthday present to myself!
This game looks excellent on the surface, but here's my biggest concern -- the developer.
Milestone has created a business from making officially licensed motorsport games that are mediocre as hell. MotoGP, MXGP, Ride, Valentino Rossi The Game -- all very vanilla, watered-down titles.
MXGP 3 was overrated. Fun but easy. Solid terrain graphics and deteriorating track surfaces. But the rider and bike graphics were barely Xbox 360 standards. And the physics model was so lifeless and vanilla. The game was largely point-and-press from a control standpoint.
Too bad Kylotonn or Codemasters wasn't developing this game. Both companies at least have a recent or long-term track record of building good, realistic racing games. Kylotonn's work on WRC 7 was outstanding. The biggest revival of a racing franchise I can recall in recent years.
    Agree WRC 7 is amazing.
I'm happy we have upgraded from the MX vs ATV era to what milestone are doing for dirtbike racing.
We have come a long way in the last few years......real bikes/riders/tracks/etc.
There is always room for improvement but I feel they are on the right track.
It would however be cool to see codemasters do say a US outdoor mx game....I would like to see what they would do with it.
Happy to hear the developer say the physics model has been revamped to increase rider feel. That was my biggest b*tch about MXGP 3 -- the connection between the tires and the surface was SO dead and didn't vary by surface type.
Fingers crossed. But there's no way I'm trusting Milestone for a day one purchase. Eager for feedback from those who crave real physics and grip models.
If this game is good, I hope Milestone transfers all of the new physics and grip models to MXGP 4 or an AMA outdoor motocross game. Supercross is cool, but the courses are flat, slow and dull compared to great outdoor courses like Glen Helen, Unadilla, Loretta Lynn's or Southwick.
I'm very psyched for this game. I really enjoyed MXGP 3 although the only way I could play it was in the first person view, I felt the over all look of MXGP 3 took a step backward from MXGP 2 at least bike and rider wise. The A.I. in MXGP 3 was much improved.
My only problem with this Supercross game is deciding which system to buy if for. It's up on the Xbox store and it says it is Xbox one X enhanced but does not mention 4k , so it will probably look the same on the Pro. I'll probably get it for the Pro, there seem to be better racing communities on the PlayStation then on the Xbox.
I think the track editor will be huge. I remember back in the days of Motocross Madness 2 on the PC there were guys that made all the current SX tracks each year. I'm guessing we are getting the 2017 tracks with the game but track creators will probably make the 2018 tracks as well.
    Pre ordering this weekend.
I just watched a bunch more videos of game play. One thing that concerns me is I see a lot of riders casing the jumps and not crashing, they do get slowed down but in real life a lot of what I've seen would result in a crash. Also some of the woop sections look very toned down ,(small) All in all the game looks good but I really want some realism and if you can come up short and just bounce instead of crashing that's a bit of a disappointment.
Track editor looks very nice and there are a couple huge stadiums that will allow for some very big creative tracks.
After all that I'll add I have no idea what stage of development the videos are from so I will reserve my final judgement until I play the game myself. I'm getting it for the PS4 first then I'll pick it up for the Xbox later on if it's a solid game.
Good points, JMD. It's a Milestone game; you can't expect realism. The company has no track record of realistic racing games. It makes officially licensed racing games that definitely lean toward the arcade side of the street.
But hopefully Supercross is fun. :)

Please analyze the realism closely. I think most of us here want more than a "point and shoot" game like MXGP 3.

No bueno - Depending on who you believe, it's either a licensing issue, or he wanted too much money.

Looks like Tomac is the Bill Belichick of Supercross........
I usually create myself as a rider in these games but in this one I think I may bring #14 Kevin Windham out of retirement. I always rooted for him when he was racing.
