If you’ve logged onto Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 26 within the last 24 hours, it’s quite likely you’ve seen the Common Courtesy program featured. And trust me, despite what it likes like, it’s worth doing.
Released on April Fool’s Day as a joke of sorts, the Common Courtesy program offers an assortment of packs, as well as four Common-rated players — Cubs starting pitcher Kerry Wood, Astros first baseman Carlos Pena, Royals outfielder Jorge Soler, and Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story. At the end of the path is a seemingly unattainable Ballin’ Is a Habit pack, awarded if you collect 10,000 Stars for the program.
If you weren’t playing Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 25 around this time last year, one could easily dismiss this as a cheeky April Fool’s Day joke and dismiss it entirely. If not that, one might do the missions/moments and think of it as Collection fodder. But trust me, you should complete the program, and here’s why.
There Are Diamond Versions Of These (Usable) Cards
The Common Courtesy program leads to a Collection where each Common card can be redeemed for a Diamond-rated version of that card. And, considering the players offered here, you’re going to want to do that.
Kerry Wood is one of my favorite cards to use in the game, especially once we start getting highly-rated versions of him. In terms of the position players in the program, Carlos Pena, Jorge Soler, and Trevor Story each have buttery swings with good timing windows and load animations. At one point, I was batting over .700 with a Story card a few titles ago, despite it being 84-rated.
Here are the cards you can earn by completing the Collection:
- 2nd Half Kerry Wood (Chicago Cubs, 87-rated)
- Breakout Carlos Pena (Detroit Tigers, 88-rated)
- Postseason Jorge Soler (Atlanta Braves, 89-rated)
- Contributor Trevor Story (Colorado Rockies, 90-rated)
Those are four very good, very usable cards for your binder. And you can get them simply for playing poorly on purpose.
How To Complete The Common Courtesy Program

When it comes to doing the Moments, you need to do the opposite of what the objectives tell you to do. For instance, in the Moment where you’re instructed not to give up a run and strike out a batter with Wood, you should actually do the opposite; give up a run without striking out anyone.
As far as the missions go, it’s simple:
PXP Missions:
- Gain 500 PXP w/ Common Players (REPEATABLE)
- Tally 64 PXP w/ Last Ride Kerry Wood
- Tally 64 PXP w/ Veteran Carlos Pena
- Tally 64 PXP w/ Contributor Jorge Soler
Stat Missions:
- Tally 5 hits with Common-rated players
- Give up 15 hits
- Make 5 errors
- Get caught stealing 5 times
By completing each Moment and Mission, you will be given 64 Stars, enough to get every card. From there, you just have to collect each of them and redeem the cards.
Happy belated April Fool’s Day. Enjoy the cards!
