A Week of Heavy Hitting Announcements

The Ratings Reveal special will be a major talking point this week, especially for the elite 99 rating club. Shohei Ohtani is an obvious lock for the maximum rating, thanks to his unprecedented offensive output and return to the mound. Other stars expected to see a significant boost include Aaron Judge and Bobby Witt Jr., whose defensive and baserunning metrics in the real world align perfectly with the game’s simulation engine.

The soundtrack reveal will also set the tone for the season’s presentation. MLB The Show has a reputation for blending alternative rock with hip-hop and Latin rhythms, and this year’s list is expected to be more expansive than ever to celebrate the global nature of the game. Combined with the technical updates and the influx of new Legends, this reveal week serves as the final pitch to fans.

If you’re worried about crossplay and cross-progression, The Show 26 will continue to support both as usual. MLB The Show will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 17.

Early access for the game begins on March 13, earning you a four-day head start over other players. Of course, you’ll have to pay up for the Digital Deluxe Edition to earn that privilege. Stay tuned for more coverage, as we’ll provide some more thoughts when the ratings are finally out.
