MLB The Show 26 Players Frustrated as Freeze-Offs Continue to Plague Ranked Seasons

Will it ever be fixed?

To say that MLB The Show 26 has had a turbulent launch would be an understatement, with multiple patches being unable to free the game of what many consider glaring issues, going from laggy menu navigation to Franchise and Road To The Show game-breaking errors.

But to the despair of Diamond Dynasty fans already used to the term, none of the above seem to be plaguing its online landscape like the well-known and elusive freeze-offs, which cause online matches to halt until one of the players disconnects. An example of that can be seen in the post below, made by user DontBanMeStepBro in the franchise’s main subreddit, where they highlight their latest encounter with the bug.

The post, however, is only one of many, with others taking social media or discussion hubs to either complain about the issue or beg for a possible fix, something yet to be formally addressed by its developing team.

What Are Freeze-Offs in MLB The Show 26

As briefly mentioned above, a Freeze-Off is the term for connection errors, glitches, or bugs that cause online matches in MLB The Show to stay frozen unless a disconnection occurs. This forces players on the winning side to either wait for a miracle or forfeit their glory to keep playing. Keep in mind that, although there have been accusations of players intentionally triggering freeze glitches in the past, nothing indicates that doing so is possible in MLB The Show 26.

How To Fix Freeze-Offs in MLB The Show 26

As the problem lies in the game’s connection approach and matchmaking, you cannot fix freeze-offs in MLB The Show 26. Instead, you can only try to mitigate them by making sure your connection is always in tip-top shape and avoiding the use of Wi-Fi networks. Many also claim that disabling crossplay can help filter out what can be considered bad matchups.
