MLB The Show 25: Inaugural Weekend Classic Now Live

Earlier today, SDS had to delay the inaugural Weekend Classic mode in Diamond Dynasty within MLB The Show 25. Diamond Dynasty itself was going through server issues, and while those are now cleared up, Weekend Classic remains unavailable.

For now, SDS has pushed the start date back one full day. I would assume we would still get a full “weekend” of time to play, and the Multiplayer Program does not end for 3+ days as of now so there’s still time to figure things out.

UPDATE: Weekend Classic went live around 8:30 p.m. EST. It will run through Tuesday afternoon.

For those unaware of Weekend Classic, based on the top ranking you got to in Ranked this month will situate you in one of the various tiers/leagues for Weekend Classic. Going 6-0 within your tier/league will net you the most rewards, and you continue to win a Show pack each win after the first 6 games.

In the meantime, the new XP path did begin, and there’s also a new Chase card that is sure to shake things up in DD (and even Weekend Classic) if you’re able to afford or pack him. This is 2nd Half Heroes Randy Johnson.

He gets Outlier on his fastball, and also also Break Outlier and Pickoff Artist. As of today, he becomes the best pitcher in the game that is not within a Collection.
