Do you hear that?
It's the sound of me crying in sheer joy.
Now that is some damn fine creative ingenuity.
Props SDS.

I love this so much. In my head, when I make a RTTS player, I have a whole idea in my head of how they do certain things. Being able to customize their stance is so baller.
I imagine pitching motions will be down the pipeline, but probably not this year.
Batting Stance thread is gonna blow up this year!!
Can't wait.

Glorious Stuff.
That was the biggest concern I had with this. I’m all for having accurate stances. But in past years even if a player’s stance was off I wouldn’t change it because I love the personalized HR Swings.
When I heard you keep the bat flip I nearly jumped for joy at work

If I'm the pitcher staring that batter down, I've already balked that runner home all the way from first.
First thing I thought of LOL

Can’t wait to drop bomb with a stance like this :y1:

Curious if they recorded audio for him as well?
I dont remember them ever having a foreign player in the game like that before they played their 1st game.

Possibly they will create him and just unlock him once he makes his debut? Wonder if they will create him as a two way player.
It has never been done, legally they can't do this I thought.
Look at Darvish and tanaka they were not in the game will mid April.
It would be a major pain in the arse if we have to wait for a roster update for Otani just to get the 2 way player in the game. means we all have to sit on franchises. if they just give us the option it would be much better and easier to create him ourselves
Can't wait to try it out.

I don't know the details but somehow they have his name and stance in. I'm not convinced that a batting stance is copyrighted though. Im quite sure they have checked all the boxes as to the legal issues.
The game officially releases on the 27th and Opening day is the 29th so it won't be that long for a roster update.
I'm sure they have a plan for him though.

Pretty sure the roster update took 2 weeks into the season last year, it was delayed due to a lot of players having to be added, in fact with all the free agents not signed it's going to be even worse this year. and don't forget Easter is the following weekend, so I would not expect a update till April 10ish
if batting stances can't be copyrighted then by that right guys like Torres who the only thing stopping him in injury will be in the majors should have his
Hell another example Eric Thames stance wasn't in the game last year too, and he was in the game back in 2012.
I think the stance isn't copyrighted but the persons name rights can't be allowed in the game, which is why we have so many vetran stance 1 generic stance 1 etc etc
I thought about that, and for some reason that seems a lot harder unless they set certain points, can branch to those points, and can create actions in between. The batting stances here are already kind of set where they are and "loop" over and over, and all that is changing are different body parts with the same motions.
That doesn't mean I disagree with you, though. I'd love this feature.
Not sure they were able to do that in previous versions .
Just hope we’ll be able to import players in an already started franchise to fully benefit that.

I bet that comes next year or the year after so MLB The Show 19 or 20! :)

Maybe for MLB 2028.
Although... I seem to remember MLB2K12 had something like this in their game? It was pretty basic.
Because say you use a stance with a toe tap like Dee Gordon, and then you move the legs and change it into a closed stance instead of slightly open, what would happen to the stride? Would he keep the toe tap? Just thinking aloud here.

That is where the issue lies, but remember that one year when Cutch had a haircut?? that actually changed within the game if you had already started a franchise.
I wish we had a import player to franchise option to solve a lot of issues with this
Looking forward to the batting stance. Should be a fun year!

I love playing current and classic rosters and this is going to be awesome. This is one step towards classic roster bliss. Just need a uniform creator, stadium creator, and some classic equipment. Love this feature and cant wait to play this game
I'm sure creating ballparks is more complicated to code but we know the code exists because there are a variety of accurate ballparks including some historic ballparks. The challenge for the developers would be to make a very complicated thing user friendly enough for "ballpark creator" to be viable. It would be a fun toy to play with possibilities for people to upload their created ballpark for the community to download.
I play a game titled Golf Club 2 in which a course creator is included and users of the game have created many real life golf courses which are very accurate depictions of the real thing.
Could ballpark creator be the big reveal on Thursday? Probably just wishful thinking but it would be a fun thing to tinker with.

I guess I'm a little out of the loop, gotta pittance threads to check. Is there a big reveal for tomorrow?
However as previously stated, I want to see what this "improved" pitching looks like.
