  1. The lighting and player movement definitely looks better. But the AntoDaBoss video is... concerning. I understand X Factor. I actually like it because I think it makes players more unique, similar to NBA 2k’s “badges.” So I get the concept, but in these videos it just seems excessively overpowered.
My hype meter went from zero to sixty. Looking pretty good. I think the abilities, if not OP could breathe some life into a game that has gotten pretty stale for me over the last half decade.

The Xfactor abilities stuff can be turned off in Franchise if you don’t want it.

Awesome videos. I really like the x-factor abilities. Something to note, many offensive abilities are canceled when the QB is sacked. This is great because it also indicates that the pass rush should not be nerfed.
The new score bug looks terrible, I couldn't spend a year looking at that. The old one, as tired as it was is better.
And I hate the lack of walkups to the line of scrimmage. Seems like that just cuts the amount of time to make pre-snap adjustments more than speed up the game.

Looks like the same game with the X-Factor gimmick put in.

Maybe they REALLY did it to reduce cheese? If so I approve, at least for online games.

Trust man I’m playing the beta. And they’re not excessively OP. Some are necessarily OP when activated
But they’re not easy to get , and easily avoidable. Like DBs with xfactors you can always not throw to their side.
Linemen and LBs you can run away from them
WRs you can bracket and double them if you feel your opponent is just trying to get them in the zone.
QBs of course just sack them and Line pressure is 2-3 seconds so you can get sacks.
Most RBs need runs of 10+ yards to get in the zone.
The counters are definitely there to keep them from being easily activated which would make them excessively OP. But they’re OP by necessity because if you’re killing a player in the run for example it should show

Then do it for online games. I only play offline, sim style.
The game still seems to be missing fundamentals of the sport and instead looks to be leaning towards emulating NFL highlights as usual. Let me know when they put scramble drills in. All surface no depth per usual.
My hype meter went from 0 to -50 after watching arcade football 20. All this is designed for MUT players. I don’t give a **** what they say. That is and has been their focus for years now. That’s why franchise mode isn’t franchise mode. They only want to do what they think is juuuuussst enough to keep us die-hard sim CFM players around so they can keep jackin’ us for $60 a yr.
They won’t fix blocking, add stunts on defense or assistant coaches in CFM because they don’t generate money. MUT players are the reason for 95% of things they “polish”, add or change every season anymore. If you can’t see that you’re blinded and brainwashed.
Quit expecting change in this generation of PS4/XB1. You’re not going to see it. This is what we’ll be stuck with until the next generation.
    Just say NO!

Why would next generation be any different?
No thanks, wasn't that Clint guy an ex olineman? The second Mack sack looks legit but the first one, he gets around the lineman and the lineman doesn't chase him, just turn back up doing nothing. And these abilities should be more like 2k, more like a higher chance the Superstar will do... whatever not a certainty.  Also there should a ability that negates every ability besides trying to knock them out. The one that seems to lacking is "stone wall'  where certain lineman can give the pass rush ability  more of a challenge.

You do realize that all the x-factor/superstar abilities can be turned off in CFM?
Im playing the beta. The run game is very good. DBs are aggressive on All-Madden. No more SUPER MLBs. Pass Trajectories make a big difference. Superstar DEs will overpower Avg to below Avg linemen. How about PLAY the game....before you make declarative statements.

The problem becomes that they now put all this work and effort into a mode that Franchise players are mostly going to hate. Maybe they could have gotten stunts in the game if they didn't do this, for example? Of course this is what inevitably happens when a single game has to cater to every audience. And of course, if there were more NFL games, they could all find a niche and specialize, and then none of these problems would exist. Sadly, well, no point in bringing all that up again.

Why would next generation be any different?

Exactly. It probably won’t. More FPS. Brighter. Better physics... Probably still won’t have any realism with OL/DL play. And franchise mode will still be an afterthought.

Yes I do realize it can be turned off.
I’ve played Madden since the 90s. I can smell their BS from a mile away. They used to make games for the franchise guy. Now everything is geared towards the MUT guy. It’s not sim football no matter how hard they tell us about sim mode.
I’ve played enough Maddens to last last me a lifetime. It’s like taking an old beater of a car you’ve had for years. Fixing the dents, putting a new coat of paint on it. Maybe you throw on some new tires and rims...Sure it looks better. And maybe handles a bit tighter with the new wheels...but under the hood it’s the same damn car you’ve been driving for the last 5+ years.
Typically if I start getting 5+ runs of 10 yards or more, I start to think it might be time to make the run sliders a little tougher....but now the game will be giving me a boost to make running EASIER.
I'd hate to be the one to say it. But I take anything the "game changers" say with a huge spoonful of salt. They are as close to being corporate shills as you can possibly get. Who in my opinion are more scared of losing access then anything else.
I know in the second video he says the X factors are not over powered, but let's not gloss over the fact that Ezekiel Elliott is at 200 and something yards on something like 31 carries for an average well over 6.5 yards a carry.
Man, I feel like every pass was either a home-run shot or a throw to the sideline. I was hoping to see more throws showing off the new trajectories supposedly in the game. Almost none of these guys took any shots over LBs and under Safeties. smh

They’re used to playing that way, I can tell you based off of my time with the game that you can throw over and under LBs and Safeties confidently. I played about 8 games and I don’t think I threw one INT to a ILB.

I haven't played the game yet, but I really like how the players move on the field, many people say it feels like it used to be on the old gen systems (the animations look more connected from each to the next. Game looks slurpy smooth, kinda reminded me of Madden 16 which I also really liked how it played on the field. Only thing I usually get concerned about is the A.I. Mostly on defense...

Then it's a good thing we have the beta impressions thread here that has over 100 pages of impressions from people who aren't EA Game Changers.

I'll echo the I hate to say it here, but there are Madden critics(not gamechangers) that are begging Clint and EA not to change pass rush and the smoothness of the game on Twitter on a daily basis.

Still, most of those guys are sooooo annoying and clearly only compliment the game. I think one guy who had access one time wasn’t a complete tool. I think his screen name is SimFootballCritic. But if I recall, he went soft on EA at some point. (I THINK he became a gamechanger, and that’s when he went soft... maybe...)

That thread is filled with both pros and cons from just about all who post.
You apparently see pros and disregard the cons and think they're "only complimenting".
Case of seeing what you want to see perhaps..

On a side note, all three of those guys are annoying.

Lol. Cookieboy is completely annoying and I absolutely had to mute. Antodaboss seems a little ‘off’ and is also worth muting. I actually get a kick out of qjb, though. ‘Da user, da user . . . Da user, da user, da user.’ Lol.

Agreed. I felt like the second guy was the most annoying however

Edit- I’m talking about the douchey game changers, not the community.
Or perhaps not seeing all of them? Almost every popular one that I have seen is an embarrassingly enthusiastic drone who is the guy that would show up uninvited to a party you’re throwing, ask to “borrow” some of your recreational plant (despite not bringing anything, not even a six pack, or even a freaking lighter), and then hit on your underaged sister.
I hit mute every time I watch their videos.

The time you have to pass looks OK on some plays, but how things play out is still Maddenball. Edge russhers are just not getting up the field deep or fast enough. QBs seem to be only contained by an edge rusher breaking a block. And I haven't seen any push up the middle.
    And no stunts?!?
I guess for those that like Madden, these incremental improvements are great. But I HATE that folks are happy with this! I was hoping to get my Jason Witten on, but this isn't the year.

You might want to rethink that cause this might be the last Madden Witten is in.

Might want to reserve judgement until you see someone other than these clowns play the game. The beta played great and all of these things that i highlighted in your post were present. Pressure up the middle was very frequent.

I saw one stunt in the beta that I played.
RE looped around to the center and Corey Lindsey just played matador ole ole. lol

You guys realize these game changers are usually playing on one of the two easy difficulties to show the game off, right?

Yes. And more often than not from what I understand on arcade or competitive mode as well
    Therebelyell626

Some play on sim, but playing on Sim on Rookie doesn't really mean much because of all the boosts the User gets it basically becomes arcade mode for the user and the CPU is ultra-nerfed.
My point was that people thinking these abilities are going to be OP because Zeke already has 20 yards per carry and 300 yards in the first half and is now getting in the zone need to realize these guys are only playing on an easy difficulty and cheesing to get the results they want to show off the feature and have some footage of it.

Lol. I can dig him cause he does sound like Cleveland from the family guy and he gives a ‘AKA Cleveland’ sometimes in his introduction. Hes has some videos where he doesn’t talk over them much as well. So, it depends on what he’s delivering sometimes. He’s not as erratic as cookieboy. That kid is all over the place jabbering nonstop without having much to really say. Lol.
