Could you tell me the time marker of this play please? Or at least close to it.
At the 12:50 mark.
Thank you. Yeah, that tackle should not happen.
Wow, thats terrible
Lol. He flopped on the ground and used his belly as a springboard to bounce back up and make the tackle. I don't see anything wrong with this?

I've had a guy dive from the DL almost immediately and sack my QB before on some similar craziness.
Just gotta hope it's super rare
I may just be football ignorant, but the gameplay and animations look exactly the same, and with CFM pretty much completely untouched, is there honestly a point in buying M18? At this point I’m not really sure what the selling points are ...

If I didn't have an awesome group of guys to enjoy online CFM with then I'd be right there with you. The CFM is great because of the team management aspect more than actually playing the game. I'm not the only one who has shared that thought, either.
Excellent point. I’ve never been apart of a real online CFM with some dedicated guys. Could be a turning point for me if I can find one, but, as of right now I see no logical point in upgrading.
I thought I was crazy but I started reading all the threads and I’m not the only one who shares this POV. This is one highly strange and weird feeling Madden release

This game isn't worth 60USD at all.
That made me laugh more than Kobe, such an appropriate image. Thank you.

To be fair, I mean, this is an 'edge case,' I can argue. It's a slow QB, the dive tackle just missed, but the game read the on the ground tackler as close enough to tackle the QB. Is it pretty? No. But, as a comparison, I see plenty of odd animations in all sports games including NBA 2k series. And, from all videos I've seen now, I do believe this is the 'smoothest' running madden to date. The transitional animations are not as clunky as 17. And, the tackle physics, in general, are better. I'm seeing RBs falling forward more often and appropriately. And, seeing them fall backwards when appropriate as well.
I'm going to hold out and buy used as more of a 'protest buy', lol, simply because I need my football fix like everyone else. But, honestly, as much as these little 'glitches' make me laugh and break immersion, they don't break the game for me. There's always going to be some slightly weird animations from time to time.

U know, this is one of those things the team has said they would like to add for a few years now. I can't believe this wasn't in the game 10 years ago. Not trying to be that guy that says, this was in the game b4, why not now?' Because, in all reality, I don't think this has EVER been in the game. And, honestly, I just don't get it. This feels like one of those fundamental sports things. Forget football, forget basketball, forget baseball, this is something ALL sports.
But, when u specifically look at football, I hate to say anything is easy, but cmon, just create some more excited fan reaction soundtracks, and have them play when:
1. Score a TD
2. Cause a TO
3. Have a play over 30 yards
Create negative and positive reaction soundtracks and have them play at those instances. This could be a 1st iteration thing for those 3 I listed. After u see that working, u could try to create further nuance.
1st downs
Goaline stands
Etc
The game would feel so much better with this type of addition.

Every year they say they got rid of the suction animations and every year they are still in the game.
I think the shoestring tackle animation should have played there. Its still a tackle. I don't think it affected the outcome of the play.

That falls under "attention to detail" in my opinion, something which Madden lacks all over the place. They keep saying stuff about not putting features in there until they can get them right but the Super Bowl entrances have the players running out of the end zone. Other team entrances have no cheerleaders or anyone else on the field, totally unrealistic. And weather as you point out is something else to add to that list.

I agree on the case with the QB tackle. He makes sort of a stop move, making him more vulnerable to being tackled. The sequence of animation is the "eww" part.
And I also agree with other games having animation issues. This is my first year playing The Show. I love it, and the very thought-out and relevant animations really set the game apart. However, some odd things happen. Still, the game leaves such a positive impression that I trust it will be worth my money. Thiis leads to my issue with Madden. They keep reinventing and never remain consistent. Ignite was supposed to be the next best thing. Now they are riding on the hype of Frostbyte.
Why can't they just stay the course and make a game that consistently instills trust in the buyer?

amazing how all these 'new' engines only ever affect lighting and nothing else. literally a spit polish on shoes with worn out soles.
Where the player landed was right on top of where Moore's right foot was. the contact should have been made IMO. The issue is the transition from contact to take down and the warp to the tackle animation the game decided.
I recall in the past I think it was Ian saying that there was an abundance of animations in the library that just don't get called to play out. Im sure they have to have captured a diving shoestring tackle. Where is it?
I was SUPER excited about Madden 18. After watching videos, it killed my excitement immediately. This game looks and seems to play just like 17, if not worse.
I don't know the ins and outs about the NFL license but why does the NFL want the license exclusive? Wouldn't they make more money by giving companies like 2K the rights as well? I am sure NFL 2K, especially 2K18 would've been bringing in a lot of money.
It's just little things w/ 2K that I am sure they would've done that changes the game. As popular as Zeke is, I am sure something as small as Zeke getting a first down and doing the "Feed Me" celebration would've made it in the game. From what I've seen, he doesn't do that. Small but also big.
Cmon EA. You're the only football game out here. I really need y'all to step it up. It's sad.
