LeBron James’ return to the Lakers is imminent now. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic is back making a scene on the basketball court once again. The Lakers’ star player had been out of the game briefly due to injuries sustained in his fingers and leg.
He’s now waiting on his legendary teammate to recover properly and join him. James has now missed out on the purple and gold team’s 11th game of the season. The Lakers are still doing well even without James on their team, as Doncic pushed them to a 121-111 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.
Even Austin Reaves and Bronny James have stepped up to the mantle to perform for their team. James is now close to returning to the court. Doncic was recently asked about the four-time NBA Champion finally returning, and he was pretty excited about it. He opened up that he and his team can’t wait to have him back once again in the lineup.
We can’t wait,” Doncic told reporters. “All of us can’t wait. It’s Bron, so it’s always good to have him back. Hopefully soon.”
Whitlock Claimed That Doncic Doesn’t Want James Back
Luka Doncic seems pretty happy about LeBron James finally returning to play for the Lakers. His recent statement is quite in contrast to Jason Whitlock’s accusations. The former Fox analyst had recently claimed, a week before this statement, that there was between Doncic and James.
Whitlock had explosive accusations against the Lakers’ point guard on his The Fearless podcast. He boldly claimed that Doncic doesn’t want James back on the purple and gold team. This raised everyone’s eyebrows, as the two teammates previously looked like they had great chemistry between them.
The four-time NBA Champion is now looking to make a return after recovering from his sciatica injury. He hasn’t been travelling with the Lakers camp either, but that could change soon.
The Lakers Might Reach Peak Form With LeBron
The Lakers are on an impressive 8-3 run this season. However, they can improve on it further once they have LeBron James back in the fold. We’ve seen some magical performances from Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, and the team chemistry can only grow stronger with the addition of James.
There’s no confirmed timeline regarding the Lakers icon’s return this season. However, much of the team is hopeful to see him back with them this month. They certainly seem to miss him a lot, especially Doncic from the looks of it.
