Luka Doncic has opened up about his thoughts on the Dallas Mavericks’ firing of Nico Harrison. The Mavericks finally decided to release Harrison from his position as general manager of the team on Tuesday.
Everyone wanted to know what Doncic thought about Harrison being let go from the Mavericks. After all, it was the former general manager who made the call to trade him to the Los Angeles Lakers. The trade shocked everyone, including Doncic himself, which occurred during the 2024-25 midseason.
The infamous trade decision sent shockwaves through the NBA community. Many Mavericks fans were unhappy with Harrison since the trade occurred, and their hate for him only grew more as time went on. However, it seems Doncic isn’t unhappy with Harrison anymore and chose to reflect on the time he spent with the Mavericks. He stated that he thought he was gonna stay with his former team forever.
The city of Dallas, fans, players, they’re all have a special place in my heart,” Doncic said. “I thought I was gonna stay there forever. But I didn’t. So they’ll always be a special place for me, always I can call it home. But right now, I’m focused on the Lakers, trying to move on. But obviously, always gonna be part of me in there. Just trying to move on and focus on what we’re doing.”
Doncic Is Focused On Proving Himself For The Lakers
Luka Doncic is completely committed to the Los Angeles Lakers. After a shocking move from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers, Doncic is trying to prove himself as the next star player for the team. So far as the season is going for him, we think he’s going to do just that.
The Slovenian basketball player is averaging 34.9 points per game. He looks like he’s achieved peak form once again and gotten back to the groove. He’s been delivering in nearly every game as well. After coming back from his injury, he looks like one of the best players on the roster once again.
The Lakers look like one of the strongest teams in the competition. The point guard is making magic happen on the court alongside Austin Reaves.
The Door For Doncic Returning To The Mavericks Is Open
Now that Nico Harrison has been fired from his position as the general manager, the door for Luka Doncic to return to his former team is open once again. However, we’re not sure if Doncic is going to take that opportunity.
As of now, he seems like he’s having fun on the court besides his Lakers teammates. The way he’s been shining on the court lately, we understand why the Mavericks would want him back. Especially, considering they haven’t been performing too well themselves.
