WWE star Logan Paul thinks President Donald Trump might show up at John Cena’s final match later this month at the Capital One Arena. Paul said the idea has been talked about, but he’s not sure if WWE wants to get that political.
The event is set for December 13, when Cena will have his last WWE match. The legendary 17-time world champion has been on his “The Last Time Is Now” retirement tour for the past year, and this is the big ending. Fans will find out who his final opponent will be this Friday night, choosing between LA Knight or Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
According to The Spun, Paul said he hopes the president will come to the wrestling event, especially since it’s happening in the nation’s capital. “We have talked about it,” Paul said. “I have no idea. It seems like something that could happen. I think it’d be awesome. But I don’t know how political the WWE wants to get, so I’m not sure.”
Trump’s long history with WWE makes this appearance possible
The demand for this event is already huge. If you want to buy a ticket at Capital One Arena, you’ll pay a lot. Right now, the cheapest ticket on TicketMaster costs $241. You’re paying for a historic moment, whether or not the president shows up.
President Trump has a strong connection to WWE. He’s actually a WWE Hall of Famer, inducted back in 2013. He joined legends like Mick Foley, Trish Stratus, Booker T, and Bruno Sammartino that year. Meanwhile, other WWE stars have been making shocking demands to management recently after big match defeats.
Trump has been involved with WWE since the days of Andre the Giant. His Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey, hosted both WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V. It’s the only venue to ever host the event two years in a row.
The biggest moment of Trump’s time in wrestling was the “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23. He participated alongside Bobby Lashley against Vince McMahon and Umaga. After Lashley won, Trump got to shave Vince McMahon’s head bald. That’s one of the most memorable moments in WrestleMania history.
With his deep history with WWE and the high-profile nature of Cena’s farewell match in the nation’s capital, it makes sense why Logan Paul thinks Trump might appear. Cena has been delivering incredible performances throughout his tour, making this final match even more anticipated. We’ll have to wait until December 13 to see if the president shows up at the final match of the 17-time champion.
