Reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen faced a tough season with the Buffalo Bills. Their loss against the Broncos hit him hard. His play throughout the game was significantly less than what would be expected of him. Allen was even heartbroken about the way it all ended for the Broncos: “Just missed opportunities throughout the game.”
In their 33-30 loss against the Broncos, Josh was able to manage three touchdowns and 66 rushing yards. Allen was injured prior to the game, but he clarified that it did not affect him during the play. “I was able to play on it and had no risk of re-injuring it. On game days, it felt perfect; there was no excuse with it.”
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Allen was asked about his injury being one of the reasons that led to the Broncos’ defeat. Allen spoke up against the same without hesitation. “No, I don’t think so. More so, decision-making and a couple throws I wish I had back. That ultimately would’ve changed it. But, I don’t think that [injury] had any play on it.”
The Bills Lose Out By A Thin Margin Every Year But Allen Doesn’t Feel Pressured
Josh Allen has rallied the Buffalo Bills to the Playoffs ever since he joined the team. However, they haven’t managed to turn the close calls into Super Bowl-winning narratives. While he was visibly emotional after the latest defeat, saying, “It’s going stick with me for a long time.” It seems like he has overcome his regrets now.
I want it extremely badly. I want to bring Lombardi back to Western New York. It’s the biggest thing that I can ask for. Obviously, I haven’t been able to get it done, but that’s just pointing the thumb right at myself. So, gonna continue to turn over every rock and every leaf, and try to figure out how to do it. I’m very much looking forward to getting back on the field, I can tell you that.
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks had a deep pass, which was intercepted by Denver’s Ja’Quan McMillian in overtime. They would’ve won the game had they scored on that drive. Similarly, in 2022, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs tied the game with 13 seconds left against the Bills. The Chiefs would go on to win the game and the Super Bowl weeks later.
Even before Josh Allen came to the team, the Bills faced numerous postseason losses, including four straight Super Bowl losses in the early 90s.
