JDM: Japanese Drift Master Is Slated For A Console Release

JDM Drifting lands on consoles.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master has quickly built a small but dedicated fan base. The arcade drifting racer set in Japan has been turning heads since its release. Being able to drift on the streets of Japan in some of the most iconic JDM cars is every car guy’s dream, and this game allows you to do just that.

For a while, JDM was only available on PC, with no indication that it would ever come to console. However, that’s not the case anymore. During IGN LiveFest, it was announced that JDM: Japanese Drift Master is arriving on Xbox Series X/S on November 21, 2025. The PS5 release will follow soon after in early 2026. IGN released a trailer on X confirming this news.

JDM is a very underrated arcade racer. It’s one of those games that decided to innovate and focus more on fun drifting. In an era where most big racing games are leaning towards simulation, JDM is a breath of fresh air. The console release will hopefully push this underrated gem to more people and get the appreciation it deserves.

Will Japanese Drift Master Have Crossplay?

At the time of writing this, there is no news confirming crossplay. The game is going to release on Xbox on 21st November, with a PlayStation release soon after. But the developers haven’t spoken about crossplay yet.

In all likelihood, the game is probably going to have crossplay. In this age of gaming, crossplay isn’t just a feature; it’s more or less a necessity. The gaming community is split across different platforms, and if you want a game to succeed, you need crossplay. Does that guarantee its inclusion? No. But it’s certainly a safe bet.

Crossplay probably isn’t going to come with the console release, but we could be wrong. If that’s not the case, crossplay should follow soon after the game is released on both consoles.
