Jazz Chisholm Jr. is enjoying New York sports during his Yankees offseason. The day before, Chisholm and his fiancée, Ahnalys Santiago, watched the Nets lose 120-96 to the Rockets in Brooklyn. On Friday, the couple went to Miami’s loanDepot park to support the Rangers as they played the Panthers in the Winter Classic.
According to the NY Post, Chisholm, 27, stood near the ice wearing the Rangers’ special Winter Classic jersey. He also wore a chain with a large pendant showing the event’s logo. The NHL’s social media posted a video of him doing a “fit check” before the game.
The couple got engaged in Finland under the Northern Lights in late December. They shared the news together on Instagram. “I’m not Da Gurl anymore yallllll I’m DA WIFEEEEEEEE,” Santiago, 25, wrote on Instagram. “I love you so much WTF mannnn you tricked me. I guess when you know you know & he ain’t playing bout me.”
The Yankees might be listening to trade offers for their star player
The two have been active on social media since announcing their engagement. However, Chisholm’s future with the Yankees might be unclear. The Post’s Jon Heyman reported on Thursday that the Yankees are “fielding inquiries” on Chisholm after his career-best season.
In 130 games during 2025, Chisholm hit .242/.332/.481 with 31 home runs and 31 stolen bases. He became just the third Yankees player to join the 30-30 club. While sports fans debate why Cleveland hasn’t dominated the East, Chisholm’s trade rumors continue to grow.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said earlier that he believes Chisholm is “part of the solution” for improving the team next season. Chisholm is set to become a free agent in 2027.
“He’s somebody who I think is currently part of the solution, someone who’s made us better by getting him two deadlines ago, giving us athleticism,” Cashman said at the Winter Meetings. “He’s an All-Star second baseman, great defense, can steal bags, power, all that stuff. He’s been a good get.”
Cashman also mentioned that the Yankees have many left-handed players at different positions. He said the team will stay open-minded about possible changes but believes these players are individually good. In other sports news, a veteran cop’s new theory has emerged about a missing coach’s disappearance.
