The highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis, originally scheduled to be a major headlining event for Netflix, was officially canceled. The fight was canceled just ten days before the event.
Paul’s promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), confirmed that the fight was pulled after serious legal issues surfaced involving Davis. Following the news, Jake Paul did not hold back his furious reaction. He launched a public attack against Davis, labeling him as an actual walking human piece of garbage.
The MVP team stated they withdrew the fight due to the emergence of serious allegations against Davis, which resulted in major concerns. Paul also clarified that his issue was not just with the fight being canceled, but with Davis’s alleged conduct and history.
Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage. Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations, and lawsuits. If you support this man you support the most vile sin a man can commit.” Jake Paul wrote.
Jake Paul Isn’t Happy At All About The Cancellation
Jake Paul’s anger is more about than just the loss of a fight. His frustrations are justified, as it was also about the amount of work and resources that went into promoting the event. The boxer criticized Davis as an absolute nightmare to work with and revealed he frequently showed up late to shoots.
He also issued an apology to his team and the undercard fighters for their sacrifices for the November 14th card. Paul expressed deep regret that their efforts were wasted because of Davis.
Paul also addressed those who continue to support Davis, stating that if they support this man, they support the most vile sin a man can commit. He also clarified that he did not want to give a woman abuser a platform to grow.
Davis Has Some Serious Allegations Against Him
A civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, became the reason behind the cancellation of the fight. The lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County outlined extremely serious allegations against the boxer, accusing him of multiple criminal acts.
The court documents reveal the allegations against Davis include battery, aggravated battery, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. It stems from an alleged incident that occurred at a Miami strip club, which reportedly took place in late October. The woman also included charges of intentional infliction of emotional distress in the complaint.
The depth of the situation was further known when a judge granted Davis’s ex-girlfriend a temporary restraining order. This order suggests that the boxer is barred from contacting her or coming within a certain distance. The Miami Gardens Police Department also confirmed the case, and the criminal charges remain under investigation. This forced Paul and his team to officially pull the highly anticipated contest on 14 November.
