'It’s A Maybe': NFL Commissioner Hints At Taylor Swift’s Halftime Show Performance. Fans Have Mixed Feelings

The Halftime Show is calling for Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s name keeps coming up in conversations surrounding the NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. The 14-time Grammy-winning artist has undoubtedly brought significant popularity to the sport. Ever since her romance with Travis Kelce began, her fanbase has followed all her appearances in the NFL keenly.

So, it’s only understandable that perhaps the higher-ups in the sport are going to pay interest as well. Roger Goodell at least seems to be doing so. The NFL Commissioner recently spoke on “Today” and was hesitant to speak about having Swift headline the 2026 Halftime Show at first. He stated that the “Anti-Hero” singer is a phenomenal artist and that she’s welcome anytime.

Goodell was further asked when an announcement could be made, and pushed it towards Jay-Z’s end. The New York rapper’s label, Roc Nation, is in charge of making this decision. However, he didn’t guarantee that it’s a lock and stated that it’s a maybe for now.

“It’s a maybe,” Goodell said.

The Fans Have Mixed Reactions To Taylor Swift’s Potential Performance

Taylor Swift has one of the biggest and most loyal fan bases of any other artist. So, we’re sure a lot of people are going to show up or tune in to see her potentially perform the 2026 Halftime Show. However, not everyone would be a huge fan of this announcement.

While a lot of fans are celebrating this hint, some don’t want to see her headline the Halftime Show. People are voicing their displeasure on social media and asking the NFL not to embarrass itself. It seems not everyone is a fan of her music.

The NFL knows Swift’s appearance is going to attract a lot of eyeballs. We’ve also come to know that the “Blank Space” singer certainly knows how to put on a show after the successful The Eras tour. So, perhaps it’s the right call to have her headline.

Swift Has A New Album Coming Soon

Taylor Swift has exciting things happening in her life recently. She recently gave a life update that she has gotten engaged to her partner, Travis Kelce, with the duo announcing the news last week on August 27. She also had another announcement for the fans that she’s going to release a new album on October 8.

The upcoming album is titled The Life Of A Showgirl, and sees her transform into a bolder version of herself. So, if an announcement is made soon about her headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, it would come just in time. She could perform some hits from her new album, similar to Kendrick Lamar, this year.

Either way, if it happens or not, 2026 has certainly been a year to remember for Swift.
