F1 25 will not be released on PS4 and Xbox One. That’s according to the official game page published by EA Sports following the game’s official reveal in late March. The page reads that the game will be released on PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5, meaning console players will have to upgrade in order to play the latest installment of the series.
Of course, there’s always a chance Codemasters decides to develop and launch a build of F1 25 optimized for old hardware, but in the case of this particular game, we’re not expecting anyone to take to the grid on the last console generation.

Why Isn’t F1 25 Launching On PS4 And Xbox One?
EA Sports and Codemasters haven’t shared the reason as to why F1 25 won’t appear on PS4 or Xbox One hardware, but the belief is due to the limitations of the hardware when compared against the current generation and high-end PCs. The developer and publisher want the best possible game to run as smoothly as possible, and having to optimize it for old hardware impacts overall quality.
Although the news is certainly frustrating for those yet to make the jump to a PC or a current-gen console, it does mean F1 25 will look better than ever, thanks to maximizing the graphical power of 50 series graphics cards and every teraflop available in a PS5 or an Xbox Series X.
F1 25 has the potential to become the best F1 game released in recent years, thanks to the increased focus on the latest hardware. If the game handles as good as it looks, the on-track action will look better than ever before.
