Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Reveals Free “Ares & Fabled Seed” Update

The game's second free major update!

Level-5 has just revealed details on the upcoming “Ares & Fabled Seed DLC” for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. This is the game’s second free major update, and opens the Ares Route in Chronicle Mode, meaning there’s more teenage football drama to get into. The “Fabled Seed” part of the DLC is essentially a special item that allows you to upgrade a character of your choice to the Fabled rarity.

Previously, the Galaxy & LBX update also added new routes, modes, and teams. The aforementioned Fabled rarity for character was introduced with this previous update. This new upcoming update’s major focus is on the Ares Route, however, and it’s based on the Inazuma Eleven: Ares animated series. The update goes live on January 28 in Japan, with a global release on all platforms likely to follow the same or the next day.

What To Expect From The Ares & Fabled Seed DLC

This should not come as a surprise to anyone who has played the game, but the animations and cutscenes for this new DLC look spectacular. Inazuma Eleven: Ares, the anime on which the DLC is based, has a pretty simple and grounded story, especially for something with the Inazuma Eleven branding.

Here’s everything the DLC adds:

  • Fabled Rarity is unlockable for all characters
  • The “Fabled Seed” item, which lets you upgrade to Fabled rarity.
  • A new move feature called “Overburst” for several characters. These are special hissatsu that trigger based on completing specific requirements for each character. For example, if four of your players know The Wall move, you get the option of The Wall Overbursts.
  • The new Ares Route in Chronicle Mode.
  • Finally, plenty of new Special Tactics, such as Omega Maelstrom, which was very OP in the actual anime.

It’s good to see that Level-5 is supporting this game properly, and if the previous free update is anything to go by, this new DLC will be just as good. As always, there’s a bit of confusion on how exactly some of the new Hissatsu, Overpowered moves, and the Special Tactics will work. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long since the update is due next week.
