‘I Was Happy To Beat Everyone Associated With The Jets’: Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers Takes Brutal Shot At Former Team. His Press Conference Comments Pulled NO Punches

Aaron Rodgers didn't take it easy on his former team.

Aaron Rodgers recently took major shots at the New York Jets after his game at MetLife Stadium. The veteran signed a one-year, $13.5 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers after leaving the Jets as a free agent.

During the game, Rodgers threw for four touchdowns and 244 yards, completing 22 of his 30 passing attempts. On the Steelers’ first drive, Rodgers had a touchdown pass to wide receiver Ben Skowronek. In the fourth quarter, the team scored 17 points, which included Chris Boswell’s massive go-ahead 60-yard field goal.

In the press conference after the game, Rodgers was questioned about whether there was more significance in defeating the Jets this time, given that head coach Aaron Glenn had previously expressed doubts about his fit for the team. The veteran responded with a confident answer, stating that he liked giving the doubters a shut-up call with his great performance. He also expressed happiness in defeating everyone associated with the Jets.

Aaron Rodgers Didn’t Hold Back After Beating The Jets

Rodgers’ revenge against the Jets was certainly a feel-good moment for him. He led the Steelers to a 34-32 win over the Jets, the same team that fired him.

Rodgers threw 244 yards and four touchdowns in his Pittsburgh debut on Sunday. And he didn’t hold back while addressing his huge victory over his former team.

His shot at the New York Jets clearly signaled the boiling anger he had for his former team. This defeat for the Jets could prove to be a poignant lesson for them for overlooking Rodgers and handing him his release.

How His Comments Add Fuel To An Already Bitter Split

Rodgers spent two seasons with the Jets. The first one saw him tear his Achilles tendon, which ended his first campaign with the team just four plays into the 2023 season. The second year saw him play through mismanagement and a franchise that was on its way out before Halloween.

The veteran spent his days with the Jets wavering between on-field and off-field problems. He pointed fingers and got into some controversies. The franchise did provide him with some of his demands, like coaching hires, free-agent signings, trades, and unexcused absences.

Despite that, his final meeting with the Jets coach was quick and cold. The decision to join the Steelers has proven to be successful for Rodgers, at least one week in. It remains to be seen how things progress in the upcoming seasons.
