When you play Franchise Mode in MLB The Show 25, you’re given the reins of an entire organization. You get to make all of the decisions regarding the team, including what players you sign, release, trade, and call up from the minors. You also pick what players play at certain times and in what positions. However, an underrated part of the power you wield in Franchise Mode is the ability to relocate and rebrand a team.
Rebranding a team isn’t anything new for sports games, and it certainly isn’t new for MLB The Show. You’ve been able to relocate teams and move them across the country with a new team name and uniforms for several iterations of the game. If you’re new to MLB The Show 25, Franchise Mode, or need a refresher on how to relocate a team, though, don’t feel bad if you can’t figure it out, as the game hides the feature, and you can only do it at a specific time.
How To Rebrand A Team In MLB The Show 25 Franchise

For starters, you can rebrand any team you own in MLB The Show 25 Franchise Mode. Even if the team has been embedded in a city for generations, you can relocate them, give them a new name, and pick out new colors for the uniform. Of course, a team like the Athletics in 2025, who are already getting ready to move in 2026, are prime candidates for a rebrand, but they’re still not the only options.
Once you figure out the team you want to rebrand and relocate in MLB The Show 25, you must get through a single season with them. Naturally, you’re unable to relocate a team during the middle of a season, so you need to wait until the offseason to start the process:
- After reaching the offseason, go to the main menu of your Franchise.
- Ensure you’re on the same screen where the calendar and the scout/trade options are located.
- Also on this screen, you should see an option that says “Rebrand Team.”
- Select “Rebrand Team,” and the game will walk you through the rebranding process, which basically allows you to pick a new city.
Keep in mind, you can’t just pick any city across the world to play in. There’s a set list of cities that you can choose from, and they all have to be within the continental United States.
Choosing Uniforms And Colors
After you have selected a new city to play in, you have to change your uniforms. Unfortunately, the rebrand option doesn’t allow you to keep the existing MLB uniforms that your team previously wore. If you want to rebrand the Athletics, you won’t be able to use their uniforms from the 2025 season or any other uniforms they have access to in MLB The Show 25.
Instead, you have to choose a new set of colors, and that’s it. You don’t get to pick a new logo or really design the uniforms all that much. The primary color you choose will be the main uniform color your team wears at home, and the secondary color will be what you wear at away games. You’ll get to keep the same logo, but you’re unable to design a new logo or import a custom one.
Once all of your selections have been made regarding a new city and uniform colors, your franchise will relocate and rebrand.
Picking A Stadium

The next step in rebranding is choosing a stadium to play at, as your new city needs to build one for your team. Fortunately, MLB The Show 25 allows you to pick a new stadium in Franchise at any time, even if you’re not rebranding. So, for your rebrand, you can design a new stadium or pick from the existing list of stadiums.
In the future, if you ever want to change stadiums for any of your Franchise teams, you can easily swap between home stadiums by going to the “Stadium Assignment” menu. This is located in the Franchise main menu and allows you to upload custom stadiums to play at for home games. This can be done anytime in Franchise Mode, so if you’re rebranding a team solely for a new stadium, you don’t have to do all that extra work.
All you have to do is import a custom stadium or pick a new one to play at, and boom, your team now plays at that stadium. So it’s like you relocated, but you don’t have to select a city or design new uniforms for the team.
