Less than a month after the Charlotte Hornets’ play-in exit, their star, Miles Bridges, has been put in the spotlight after a legal issue involving him and his former partner, Mychelle Johnson. A North Carolina court has issued a temporary restraining order in favor of Bridges after he filed a court petition involving Johnson.
As reported by Heavy, court documents obtained by TMZ revealed the lengths she went to get to this point. In his claim, Bridges said his lawyer was contacted by Johnson, who he alleges posed as a different woman and stated she was pregnant with his child.
This, in turn, prompted his legal team to pursue a paternity test, which later indicated the claim was not valid. Bridges accused Johnson of contacting his attorney under a fake identity and sending texts from an unknown number that revealed his home address.
Bridges Was Concerned For His Safety
Besides the shocking paternity debacle, the court filing also describes an alleged incident wherein Johnson allegedly went to a Hornets game at Spectrum Center. Based on the filing, an allegedly intoxicated Johnson arrived at the arena. Apparently, she had just dropped her children off with their nanny.
After that, Bridges claimed she rented a nearby hotel room and later appeared near the venue’s parking areas, including the garage where his vehicle was parked. The filing claimed that there was an attempt to tamper with his car’s tires, adding that his girlfriend, Shara, and his children had recently been inside the vehicle.
He further alleged she rented a nearby hotel room and was seen in connection with activity around the venue, including the garage area where his vehicle was parked. Bridges also claimed there was an attempt to tamper with the vehicle’s tires, noting that his girlfriend, Shara, and his children had recently been inside it. The filing claimed Johnson placed an associate in the lobby before later moving to the arena garage
Under the TRO, Johnson will not be allowed to be within 500 yards of Bridges, his home, or any Charlotte Hornets facilities. It also bars any harassment or cyberstalking involving Bridges, his girlfriend Shara, or related locations. It remains temporary pending a future hearing where a judge will decide whether to extend, modify, or lift it. Bridges has yet to comment on the order.
NBA star Dwight Howard had a similar experience with his ex-wife, Amy Lucian, whose actions forced him to file a restraining order against her. In other cases, it’s the other way around. A woman tried to file a TRO against NFL star Puka Nacua after an alleged biting incident in December, but was not granted.
