'Gotta get the LSU guys together': Jaxson Dart reveals which receiver he'd pair with Malik Nabers on the Giants

He wants an LSU reunion in New York.

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart shared his dream plan for the team’s receiving group, and it includes bringing together former college teammates in New York. During a recent show appearance, Dart was asked which wide receiver he would want to play alongside Malik Nabers. He quickly answered with Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase.

According to the New York Post, Dart explained he wants to reunite old college friends on the same team. “But other than [Nabers], I think I’ve gotta get the LSU guys together. Gotta get Ja’Marr [Chase] out there,” the 2025 NFL Draft pick said.

Chase is one of the best playmakers in the NFL today. He was picked fifth overall in the 2021 draft after playing at LSU, though he skipped the 2020 season. Last season, Chase caught 125 passes for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns. Adding him to the Giants would create major problems for other teams.

Dart’s confidence in Nabers shows the receiver’s true potential

Before naming Chase, Dart made sure to praise his current top receiver. He called Nabers the best receiver in the league right now. “I got the best receiver in the league on my team right now so let’s make that CLEAR… I got the BEST receiver in the league on my team… but other than leek.. gotta get Ja’Marr out there,” Dart stated.

This is high praise for a player whose rookie season ended early because of injury. NFL fans have been vocal on social media about controversial moments this season, similar to how Eagles fans flooded social media with complaints about a recent game-winning play.

Nabers was having a great 2024 season before getting hurt. He finished his first year with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Those are excellent numbers for a rookie. His season ended in Week 4 when he tore his ACL during the game against the Chargers.

The injury stopped what looked like one of the best rookie seasons in team history. Recognition for outstanding performances can take time, just like Carlos Beltran’s Hall of Fame consideration after being singled out following the Astros scandal.

Dart is excited about having Nabers back healthy next season. During the team’s locker cleanout day, he told reporters he can’t wait to play a full season with his star receiver. “That excites me a ton,” Dart said. “Just seeing him go through this recovery process already and how much he’s put into it, and how hungry he is for next season. I know that he’s going to be ready to go. I can’t wait to be on the field with him.”
