Forza Horizon 6 is set to release in around two months, and IGN just dropped nine minutes of new Forza Horizon 6 gameplay footage as part of their March IGN First coverage. While the gameplay length is a bit on the shorter side, it does give us a quick look at the 2017 Saleen S7 LM, the roads of Japan, and a bit of the city area.
The footage kicks off in Southern Japan’s rolling rural countryside, packed with tight corners that really put the S7 to the test. It blasts into a bustling Tokyo section, five times larger city than any city Playground Games has built before. The world feels polished, the cars look sleek, and it’s looking better than ever. Things ramp up in the footage as the car climbs into the mountains. You see all types of diverse terrain that begs to be torn through in your favorite ride.
A Lot More To Be Seen
While this exclusive gameplay footage is nice, some fans do have their concerns. This reveal builds on what Playground Games showcased back in January during Xbox Developer Direct. We saw raw gameplay, Japan map details, and some features like a progression system inspired by the 2012 original. It’s nice to see the actual freeways in action, and the main actually goes around the entire map, which is a great detail.
However, traffic doesn’t look all that intense. Some people think that traffic was likely reduced in the settings to show off the map, the car, and the atmosphere. The footage was also uploaded at 30FPS, and it looks motion blur was cranked to the max. The HUD looks very similar to Forza Horizon 5, which is fair since there weren’t any real problems with it in the previous game.
Forza Horizon 6 releases on May 19, and you can pre-order it right now. We’re looking forward to Touge Battles in the game, and we hope that Playground Games can muster up some more exciting footage as we get closer to the release date. Regardless, there are plenty of new features and things to explore in the game, and it’s looking to be a successful release.
