FM 26 Commentary Mod Update Adds “Next‑Gen” Features

Realistic commentary In FM!

Football Manager 26’s mods are getting better day by day. The popular FM 26’s MatchDay Live Commentary Mod has received a major update, branding itself as a “Next-Gen” update that makes live commentary in-game mirror closer to a real TV broadcast. The headline change is a direct hook into FM 26’s engine with BepInEx, removing issues like lag and misread scores.

The “next-gen” label comes from how the mod works: instead of the mod reading your match screen, it hooks straight into FM 26’s core engine through BepInEx. That means no clock or score box alignment, no OCR glitches, and virtually no delay between pitch action and audio. The creator calls it a “direct connection”. On paper (we haven’t tried it yet), it should feel like a baked-in feature rather than a mod.

There’s also an “Easy Mode” that auto-detects the match window and locks the UI in place, without the need for manual calibration. That means you just drop the files in, finish the installation, and experience broadcast-style commentary in FM26 hassle-free.

Step‑By‑Step Setup You Can Actually Follow

If you’re ready to set up the mod, Soritoutsi splits its download into three folders: the commentary app, the BepInEx base, and the mod’s .dll file. Here’s what a clean install would look like:

  • Place the commentary app anywhere after downloading it; it holds the .exe file for the mod. Once you’re ready to launch the mod, simply double-click it.
  • Install BepInEx if you’re not already using something like BassyBoy’s Stadium Mod or another BepInEx-based mod. To install it, drag all the contents of the BepInEx folder into your FM26 root folder.
  • Drop the mod .dll file containing FM26CommentarySender.dll into: FM26/BepInEx/Plugins/FM26CommentarySender.dll
  • Afterwards, launch FM26, then run the commentary .exe file from the first folder. In the mod’s settings, choose BepInEx mode (not the old OCR/Tesseract), and restart the tool if you change the languages or connection types.
  • You’re all set to go. Boot a 3D match and click “Play” in the mod. You’ll get a live-style commentary throughout your games. Recent updates add in duo-commentator mode, extra trivia, and support for multiple languages.
