Atlus is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Persona franchise, and it’s kicking things off with a collaboration with Fitness Boxing 3. Just a couple of days ago, we talked about how Imagineer, the studio behind Fitness Boxing, teased this potential collaboration. Out on Thursday, January 8, Imagineer has now unveiled the full Persona 5 Royal DLC pack details.

Do Persona Fans Really Care About This?
On the surface, this collaboration seems perfectly sensible. Fitness Boxing 3 is a Nintendo Switch game that serves as a workout partner. It’s a rhythm game where you have to perform boxing moves to the beat, similar to something like Dance Dance Revolution and various minigames from Wii Fit. Persona 5’s high-octane and joyful music tracks, such as Last Surprise, fit perfectly with this idea.
However, this DLC is something that’s basically just a cool add-on for those who already own Fitness Boxing 3. The game has a simple purpose, and it serves it well, but the gameplay isn’t that interesting on its own to make Persona fans rush and grab this title now. Fitness Boxing is no stranger to collaborations, as its Hatsune Miku collab was also decent.
But while the in-game cosmetics and new music tracks are cool, and we may even get Joker as an instructor, fans over at the Persona subreddit aren’t exactly jumping up in excitement:
“Not a full game, huh? Like cool or something, but that means less content, but also not a big announcement for the 30th anniversary.”
When we first covered the news about the teaser, we were also expecting a full spin-off. There is certainly enough content in Persona 5 to make that happen. After all, Hatsune Miku got a fully standalone spin-off, so why doesn’t Persona? It’s not exactly the best start to the 30th anniversary celebrations, as people are hoping for something like Persona 5 Arena, a highly speculated fighting game with Persona 5 characters.
