Fans Debate Football Manager 26’s Current State After Multiple Updates

Worth the money?

It’s been more than a month since Football Manager 26 was released, and even more since the game hit early access. We are all aware of how botched the launch was for the game. FM26 was terrible at launch, with huge bugs, poor optimization, and a lot of issues.

But now we are close to two months in, and there have been a lot of updates and patches that have aimed to fix the game. To be fair, there have been improvements, especially in terms of game performance and optimization. But, other than that, there hasn’t been much progress in the game.

A lot of the major bugs are still there, the game engine still needs a lot of work, and the UI is the worst part of the game. For a game that’s built around interacting with menus, having a bad UI is a major problem for the game.

But what’s the opinion of long-term fans? Is the game better than it was on release? Or simply put, is it worth spending money on it this year? Well, here is what the general opinion is.

Fan Comments On The Current State Of Football Manager 26

The overall consensus of the community is that FM26 is still quite bad. Despite the performance and bug fixes, the game is far from being enjoyable. A lot of FM26 players say that it’s not worth getting the game this year. A post on r/footballmanagergames started a debate in the comments.

Most of the comments talk about whether it’s worth it to buy the game or not. And, the general opinion is a straight “no”. Many recommend trying out the demo before making the purchase, as that will show what the game is about. A comment explained it best:

The game is fine just keep in mind that it’s not as immersive as FM24.

If you like to immerse yourself by often checking different leagues’ positions atm, best players currently, how certain players/managers perform, etc., then the game is still light years behind FM24, since those things take too many clicks and loading time to do.

One of the biggest upsides in comparison to FM24 is the processing time, though. I have almost every single country enabled up to 2-3 tiers each, and the game simulation time between the matches is very fast. Almost as if i only had 10-15 leagues in FM24, I mean that fast.

That’s more or less the general view of the entire community. When it comes to performance, FM26 might be better when it comes to the match engine, but when it comes to football simulation, FM24 is miles ahead. So, if you are upgrading from FM24, the general opinion is that you shouldn’t, or at least play the demo before you do.

In short, FM26 still needs a lot of work before it can be called a good game. While there have been improvements, it’s still nowhere near where it needs to be.
