On March 24, 2025, the official F1 X (formerly Twitter) shared seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton wearing his Ferrari overalls as the cover star of the Iconic Edition along with a March 26 reveal date.

Shortly after the announcement, a trailer appeared on the EA Sports F1 YouTube channel, ticking down towards the date when fans will get their first look at what Codemasters has worked on since the launch of F1 24. In addition to the countdown clock, eagle-eyed fans managed to spot that the Iconic Edition is planned for a May 27, 2025 release date.

The Iconic Edition is expected to be the most expensive edition of F1 25 on offer from EA Sports, meaning there’s a chance that the leaked release date is the earliest chance for players to take to the starting grid. Previous editions of F1 have offered early access as an incentive and there’s every possibility EA Sports is doing the same this year.

What’s Included In The F1 25 Iconic Edition?

The exact information on what the Iconic Edition includes remains a mystery. However, we expect it to feature all kinds of content ranging from F1 World items to legendary drivers appearing in your Career Mode saves.

For many, there’s a huge demand for classic cars to return to the F1 games and with Hamilton making a switch to Ferrari for this season, it would be the perfect opportunity to showcase the McLarens and Mercedes from his career along with several other vehicles from F1 history.

With only a few days until the trailer goes live, it won’t be long before we get to find out more and whether Codemasters has finally managed to conquer the often divisive handling model.
