F1 2017 Wins Best Racing Game of 2017

The F1 series has always been a favorite of mine over the past few years. I first interacted with the series with F1 2014. Back at that point, the series had a long way to go to get to the point it could be considered the best racing game on the market.

For several years, the F1 series was simply very good to solid but not quite encroaching on great.

Fast forward to today, and F1 2017 is our choice for the best racing game of 2017 and it should get consideration for the best sports game period.

Its the Career Mode Stupid

F1 2017 features a career mode which is massively expanded and that alone gives this game a dose of realism you are hard pressed to find elsewhere.

You develop your skills and hone your car over several seasons. The car management in particular is just incredibly in-depth and will keep you busy trying to shave parts of seconds off of your time.

On top of that, you have to manage a pit crew to maximize your time, you have an R&D unit to manage, and you need to work on certain practice programmes to maximize things such as fuel management.

And, in case you want the option, female driver avatars are now part of the whole experience as well.

The career mode’s expansion this year really brought the whole experience up a big level.

But It’d Mean Nothing if The Gameplay Wasn’t Amazing

There are 20 official circuits in the game along with alternative track layouts. This variety in the gameplay along with solid car physics and good AI makes each and every race different in some way.

In fact, the on-track gameplay has been a series strong suit for quite awhile — it was the stuff around that which brought the experience down. Now that both are at a high level, you have what is basically a must-play combo for any racing fans.

There are other new additions this year from a new Championship Mode to enhanced Multiplayer options which give players so much to do.

The Best

F1 2017 is the best racing game of 2017. Given the depth and variety of options, the great gameplay, and the now excellent career mode — this should come as no surprise.

If you haven’t yet played the game, its available on PS4, XB1, and PC today. Be sure to pick it up and enjoy what is one of the best sports gaming experiences of the last year.
