eFootball’s NARUTO Shippuden Collaboration Is Live, But Neither Of The Fanbases Seems Up For It

No, Naruto and Sasuke are not playable.

We are only a few weeks away from the start of the 2026 World Cup, but while most fans are currently holding on to the hopes of seeing their country lift the biggest trophy, eFootball came out of left field to announce an unusual collaboration, this time with the Naruto franchise.

A new Vs Naruto Uzumaki event is also available, featuring a free-to-claim Naruto-themed Neymar Jr. card, as well as a Kakashi-themed Robert Lewandowski and a Shikamaru-themed Martin Odegard. All of the free and contract-exclusive Naruto and Sasuke-themed cards can then perform unique Stunning Shots, featuring the effects of Rasenshuriken and Chidori/Raikiri. They can also perform unique celebrations featuring the characters. On May 7th, a new wave of free event cards is set to become available, all of which you can see below.

This is not the first time Konami has brought an anime crossover to mainline eFootball, with its recent Yu-Gi-Oh collab being the latest occurrence and its Blue Lock crossover being a huge hit with the community to this day. The thing is, as extreme as it might be, Blue Lock is a soccer manga/anime, while Naruto does not share much with the sport, a fact that even long-time fans of the ninja were divided over. As showcased by the comments section in the announcement post, eFootball fans have also taken their discontent to social media, with many seeing the collab as a diversion from what they believe the franchise needs the most.

But what about you? Will you grind toward the new exclusive cards or just brush them off? Don’t forget to let us know. In the meantime, make sure to also take a look at all of the new TOTS Bundesliga, Saudi Pro, and ROTW players arriving on EA FC 26 this Friday.
