  1. Like the new transitions. Especially the half guard to sprawl. We need more ways to get to the back from top.
I hope choke subs are buffed, most people agree. Have a bigger bar or slowdown for low stamina and sub specialists.
Finally, the ability to go for subs from the GnP positions without health event. Hey Skynet, thanks for posting and enjoying the patch sync with the PPV week. Along with adding ground transitions, I think you guys should look to implement more transition submission counters, ie. the DOM kneebar counter from halfguard during the SUB back take transition or the DOM Guillotine from sprawl during the SUB transition to standing clinch. From DOM mount you can add an arm triangle submission during the SUB transition to turtle as an example. Also adding scrambles similar to the takedowns can add some cool variety to the ground game. Keep up the good work, game feels much better from launch. Cheers!

What does it mean to go for a sub from GNP positions?
Somehow I haven't encountered it yet so I'm not sure the significance of the change.

In UFC 3 you had subs when postured up like kneebar from half guard and a heel hook from stacked. Apparently these were locked until you stunned someone and you got up into knee on belly in UFC 4.

The Guillotine counter from sprawl to get up is there already.

    Ah gotcha. That makes sense.

I'm also really curious how these GnP subs are going to play out. Just really hoping it doesn't turn into a constant sub attempt fest to stall and score points.
Hello friends, good afternoon. I believe that in this patch we will have: - Gnp improvements improvements in tko and FTF. more facial damage, more blood. shorts color option. legend Anderson Silva. and remodeling fighters. with luck a new venues

I see we eased off the Khamzat hype just a little bit.
I think it was Luke Thomas that made the point that the guy that just beat Cowboy Oliveira already has a more impressive win than any of Chimaev's wins, based on who he beat.
An interesting guy considering he's basically not beaten anyone of significance yet. Still think he'll be pretty good, just hypes a funny thing.

People said the same thing about the hype The Notorious brought to the UFC and shrugged off a dominant win over Brimage and Siver (granted the Mendes win won over some non believers) Then we blinked our eyes a few times and he ended up with a strap over each shoulder. People who know the sport far more intimately than we do have ALOT of confidence in this guy. I'd say the hype isn't unwarranted. Not saying he'll take gold in any division, but he he's definitely got the tools to compete with the big boys.
Agreed...hype is a funny thing. Wonder how humbling it must be to have all the hype in the world behind you and then take an L to someone who wasn't even thought about as a possible contender that night *cough, Sean O'Malley, cough*
Finally some wiggle room in the Ranked world, hopefully it picks up the player base because the game is pretty dead.
No offence, these additions are good but some of them feel like they should have already been in the game and aren’t really fixing or working on any community complaints.
My biggest gripe right now is the hit detection with stomach and body kicks, as well as hit detection with front kicks. It’s all out of wack, constantly missing kicks because of some weird clipping and getting koed because of it.
I need to make a post with video because it’s damn frustrating throwing a leg kick seeing it land but absolutely nothing happens.
    Skynet

-Added new transition from the back side bulldog attempt to backfaceup (bobsled)
-Also added a new transition from back face up to back side, for the DOM

Any new transitions is a big win!
    Skynet
GnP submissions no longer require a health event before initiating

Yes! I honestly avoided g&p altogether as I thought it felt really slow unless you're finishing the fight after a knockdown.
    Skynet
Added a new arcade mode to Fight Now: Adrenaline Mode.

Probably never going to play it, but love the addition of new modes.

    Hair updates for Michelle Waterson

Please make the current hair selectable for CaF. I even want it for my guys. Don't just delete assets and content. :y220d:
And a quick question: will we ever get a career update patch? If the answer is no, no biggy. But please just mention it now and I can stop being slightly disappointed with every patch, even though the content is nice.

I think people here are gonna like this patch.....

And you base that on what's announced, or insider info? Because - though I like it - I don't think it fully captures the frustrations regarding stamina...
    WarMMA
Boy I wish one of these could say "made clinch attempts deniable" lol.

You can technically deny them by pushing them or lunging back. It has same timing as old TD denial.
    aholbert32
I think YOU in particular will like this patch.

Okay so this thing about pure ragdolls sounds very nice but its also concering a little bit.
From the sounds of it we can now either get a KO that results in exactly what we already have, OR we can get a KO that is 100% ragdoll physics but without the option to enter Finish the Fight.
This concerns me because the last thing I want are half, or even a quarter, of my KOs to be forced walk-off KOs. It simply doesn't happen that much in MMA.
I know I probably sound ungrateful, but I just want this aspect of the game to be the best it can be.

I agree with this but this is a step in the right direction like if we can't do follow up shots on a ragdoll ko maybe this is something they can add in a future patch

I keep waiting in offline mode, to be able to fully edit my CAFs, and having only the archetypes as an option 🙏

We may have to keep waiting on that. There doesnt seem to be a big enough demand for people to change this. For example, there are 10-12 GCs and only 3 of us REALLY care about the issue. Everyone is in support and think the devs should take the time to fix this issue but me and like 2 people are the only ones behind the scenes who are regularly complaining about this.
Its alot of work to fix and I'm not super optimistic that EA thinks its a good use of time to fix this issue. This isnt from the devs but I get the feeling that it would be easier for them to just add more prototypes than actually put in the work that it will take to add editing.
    I hope I'm wrong though.
I also pester people internally about this likely more than the GCs pester us! I really hope it happens, but honestly it's well outside my area so I don't know the status on it, but it's something we agree on too. It's just the cost vs resources at the moment, like most things.

Is fixing side kicks on the radar? Thanks for the great game.

If you're referencing the side kicks missing when the opponent walks to the side, that is intended. Some of the other straight kicks do track, and that is actually the likely bug. They're not supposed to.
    Skynet

-Added Lights Out KOs. KO strikes that deal very high damage will shut the lights out completely, resulting in looser RAGDOLLS
I swear to god if I hear one more complaint about ragdolls..... :ban:
This requires some clarification, however! These ragdolls don't happen on every single KO, only the ones that really put them out. Lesser KOs will still allow for the aggressor to dive on the opponent and enter finish the fight before the ref stops the fight.
YES. RAGDOLLS. WE DO LISTEN, YOU KNOW.

Holy sh*t, they actually did it!! Thanks for seeing this through, Skynet!

I was hoping you would make them track better. Its kind of hard to fight from the outside. Thank you for responding to every question I've asked.

If it’s intended it’s not working like it should, the amount of times I’ve thrown a sidekick or spinning kick to the stomach and the kick should land but just magically stops with no follow through is mind numbing. It wasn’t like this in 3.
If you need evidence that a non-UFC licensed MMA game would likely never sell, check out how mad people are that Chandler is in the game even though he's never fought in the UFC.
He's fought six fights against former UFC fighters, with three of those wins being against former UFC Champs (Bendo 2X, Alvarez).
    But he's in!
    What a glorious day!

Hold up, did yall see the new fight types?????
Well I hate to be greedy, but my next request this the ability to create a mixed rules event.
Give that mode some love. When we are selecting the fighters, refs and title/non-title, add a fought option for fight type.
Let us go all One Championship up in here.

    Twitter is Twitter.
There isnt a single active fighter that isnt in the game that is higher priority than Chandler. The guy is likely a win away from fighting for the LW belt.
I have to admit this sounds like a really good patch. If I can find the game for like $20 I may finally pick up this weekend. I really like how they are prioritizing adding to the flyweight division since it was pretty shallow at release. I would still like to see them add to HW and LHW though as those divisions are super shallow in game. Glad to see rag dolls and flash KO’s back

Im at work, can someome check if they fixed Uriah Halls shorts?

Annnd nothing for Hall. Still has the wrong shorts on.
This wouldn't bother me so much if he didn't already have the right shorts on in every other game prior. You guys literally changed it from the right shorts to the wrong ones. Why?????
Hall hasnt worn long board shorts in like 6+ years.
Hall is one of my all time favorite fighters and this just absolutely guts me. Makes me not even want to play as him.
How hard can it really be to just change his shorts back to the Muay Thai shorts?
Why was it changed in the first place?
I've already proven in the fighter likeness thread, with like 10 seperate photos that the man hasnt worn long board shorts in yeeeeaaaaaaaaars. He won his last fight via KO. What other criteria do we need to check off before he can get the right shorts on?
    hope in the future
    we can see
RAGDOLL KO then FINISH THE FIGHT
People will not need go back to play UFC 2
    for the Knockout Physics System
youtube ea sports ufc top50 KO series will come back
I miss that moment when everyone contributed cool KO video

This is just frustrating, even though I don't even play as Hall. It's just baffling. Why indeed...
Any chance that UFC will get a PS5 update like Madden? I'm not looking for new gameplay features, just wondering if we might get any performance updates. I'd specifically like to see something done with vibration because not feeling those strike impacts makes a big difference.

This is just frustrating, even though I don't even play as Hall. It's just baffling. Why indeed...

Drives me absolutaly insane. It affects me way more than it should, but I just relate to Hall so much. 1 of my all time favorite fighters in the sport, for both his fighting skill, and his personality and life experiences. Literally takes a bit of life out of me everytime I play as Hall.
What's crazy, is everytime I play MW, I always tell myself I'm gonna pick someone else. But then I see Hall, and I just love his style and skill set, and that's exactly how I want to play(and as a sim player I just gotta play the fighter how they actually fight) so I always end up picking Uriah..... And those goofy *** long board shorts steal a bit of my soul every time.
Its 2020. There's like 4 guys in all of MMA still wearing long board shorts............
I will literally pay someone a few hundred dollars to change his shorts. I have a great job. I make really good money. Any dev, message me, and I will literally pay you hundreds of dollars to change his shorts to the correct shorts he actually wears.

ragdoll ko's are just right now,in a real fight the ref would jump in quickly anyway. UFC 2 ragdolls are over the top.

they were *sometimes* over the top, but usually not. UFC 2 ragdolls were overall better. Not perfect, but better.
    aholbert32
I'm not a dev but I dont think thats happening.

Also not a dev obviously, but from a dev standpoint, why would you do this? It might result in a small boost of sales, but the "wow"-effect of the next game will be gone, and you might lose more revenue.
And contrary to what some people think the devs don't owe us a "next gen upgrade" at all. This has rarely happened in the past and just depends on the sheer goodwill.
I don't understand the OWC weight division change. Not being able to choose which division you get is a downgrade from the previous system because at least with that you can choose not to play if there is an unenjoyable weightlcass (e.g women's flyweight).

Yeah, it would be cool if they merged this system with the old one from previous games.
Give us the three weight class options at a time, but allow us to choose how many of the three we want to search for.
Not serious about this, but what are the chances one could apply for a refund based on the grounds that EA deleted content available in the vanilla version?
Suppose I was a relative of Waterson or a superfan and bought the game just to play as her likeness. I'm not, and I didn't, but what if I did? I haven't watched her fights in years and know her with her short hair. The 'updated' model doesn't quite look like her imho. I bought a game where she appears the way I remember her.
I know it sounds petty and silly, but the demo/trial had certain characters present. Now these assets are changed, which I assume is a first in, well, videogame history. Afaik no company has ever flat out deleted content. This smells like false advertisement. And since there's no way for me to roll back to a previous version afaik, what's there to do? Generally, devs ADD stuff, FIX bugs and only change stuff if there's a platform on online game forums etc. The WWE games have versions of characters, like Kane '00, Kane '03 and unmasked Kane, so people can choose.
Same thing with tattoo's and gear changes. It might look insignificant but these things might play into determining a purchase. Gameplay changes are debatable, but usually improve things for most of the player base.
They did it before with Rousey in UFC3. Suddenly her model got replaced with one that only had a champion-version of the UFC gear, which meant my leagues/tournaments got stuck with awkward gear pairings (champ vs champ).

    Zero....absolutely zero.
Also sports video games make likeness changes all the time. EA does it with Fifa. 2k does it with NBA2k. Sony does it with the Show.
They arent considered deletions. They are likeness changes. The fighter is still there and still useable. Now you may not like the change but that doesnt mean you are justified to get your money back because of a likeness change.

I literaly mentioned I didn't. It was just an exercise in legislation, I guess. Aholbert makes some valid points, I guess.
As I mentioned in another thread, I'm just slightly pissed off (more like dumbfounded) her hairstyle has disappeared from the game, for no reason whatsoever. I liked that style as it was different. Would be nice to see it used by random CaF's in career. When I'm doing a female career run, they all seem to look the same.

I have no idea the difficulty of execution, considering I would have thought simply allowing us to edit stats might be easy enough.
But what about simply being able to assign moves and change the star rating of the moves? The screen already exists, which I suspect is the difficulty in allowing us to edit stats (they literally took those portions of the game out).
With more prototypes and allowing us to do this, it's a decent give back considering the blind spot that occurred on this one.

I dont know but the safe way to analyze this game is to assume NOTHING is easy.
While the screen exists, you still have to add functionality to that so you can change the moves and start rating. You also need to build a function that keeps the edited CAFs out of online (which I assume is the big reason its not in the game yet).

I feel like if I had one request for UFC 5 it would be this...
Can they just not blow anything up this time? That seems to be my biggest disappointment game-over-game. They "re-invent" something and it's usually kinda cool, but we lose basic quality of life functions from the previous version that make everyone question if it was worth it.
This happened with the clinch and CAF system in UFC 4. Maybe the highest elements of both these things is better, but the worst parts of it, the floor got lowered.
We made things easier to use while sacrificing the depth. Can we focus on building the depth out for the next game, even if means we dont get anything shiny?

I'm not a dev but I dont think thats happening.

That would be unfortunate, but not too surprising. Thankfully, I was able to fix a lot of my problems by turning off HDR.

Accepting without being satisfied at all functions such as not having injuries, not having draws in fights and many other things, but above all assuming being very unhappy about it, not being able to save hundreds of CAF of creation, which has annoyed me the most in this UFC 4, maybe because it is an option that we had in previous games is to have the freedom to edit the statistics and movements of our created fighters, it is the biggest disappointment I have with this game.
I do not deny that I can still enjoy the game in other facets, but it annoys me a lot to have only 22 CAF of creation and not be able to edit the statistics of these as I could in previous versions
I always said that I buy the game when they fix the ko's in this game. So after the latest patch I decided to buy it. Must say I really like it. Hope they fix some more things when they release the next patches. Will there be other big patches like this in the future?

Will there be other big patches like this in the future?

They've done several "big" patches now (big is quite subjective), and normally should do a couple more in the next few months if they keep up the pace. In previous games, there were also some career tweaks but that remains to be seen.
I expect a couple more fighters and some new transitions. Would be early to call it quits now, except when they're settling on a new game every year (but I doubt that).
