EA Sports UFC 4 Gameplay Trailer and Details

The new EA Sports UFC 4 gameplay trailer has arrived, as creative director Brian Hayes, takes a deep dive into the new gameplay innovations and improvements with the game.

Fluid Clinch Control

UFC 4 introduces Real Player Motion Technology (RPM Tech) into the art of the ‘clinch’, creating a fluid experience driven by positioning and physical context. Utilizing this technology, the clinch is integrated as part of the striking system, with clinches triggered by moving towards or away from the opposing fighter and striking, allowing for more fluid and frequent clinch and break moments.

Takedown Overhaul

UFC 4 introduces RPM Tech into takedown gameplay as well. With a multitude of new takedown animations, players will feel a larger spectrum of outcomes, driven by user control and fighter attributes. From power carries to clean sprawls to all new driving takedowns where players actively push or defend through the takedown attempt, fights are won or lost in these impactful wrestling moments.

High Impact Movements

Every fighter enters the Octagon to finish the fight. In UFC 4, players will see, hear, and feel the disorienting impact of a fight changing shot, or see face-rippling replays of devastating knockout blows that put their opponent on the canvas.

New Submission System

The overhauled system introduces an all-new experience for the submission phase. Depending on your position, one of two new mini-games will trigger, built to offer a simplified user experience. In addition, players now have the ability to strike from the submission phase and more ways to transition submissions to accelerate the finish, or deploy high-impact slams to escape them.

Grapple Assist

The introduction of a more intuitive control scheme allows for greater control and understanding in the ground game. Basic left-stick button inputs allow players to instantly trigger an effort to ‘get-up’, ‘submit’, or advance to a more advantageous ‘ground and pound’ position.

Dynamic Striking Inputs

An overhaul to the control scheme allows for more controlled striking, while offering better access to a variety of combinations. Using the new mechanic, players can choose between tapping the button to strike with speed, or holding it to execute slower, more damaging, blows.

Devastating Ground and Pound

Finding ways to inflict significant damage from the ground has become the trademark of some of the UFC’s best. With the ground and pound overhaul, UFC 4 puts you in more control of postured-up scenarios, giving the striker more tools to aim and pick their spots and the defender access to more tools, like head movement and well-timed counter transitions.

New Venues

Bang it out in the backyard or surround yourself in the storied tradition of the Kumite — both are possible in the all new locations of UFC 4. Plus, fight at UFC Apex and Action Avenue. Whether you’re inspired by backyard brawlers or underground warriors, your fighting style will be shaped by these all new, immersive environments.

Blitz Battles

This fast-paced mode pits you against other fighters online, competing in a round-based rapid-fire tournament. A constant rotation of rulesets keeps the experience fresh and the competition hot.

EA Sports UFC 4 is scheduled to arrive on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 14, with the EA Access trial scheduled to arrive on August 7. During the trial time, members will also have the opportunity to participate in pre-launch, UFC 4 challenges, that unlock in-game currency.

  1. Nothing that we didn’t see from the beta..
-I still saw trash TKO finish, no follow up strikes from knockouts or referee interactions. Brian Hayes has the nerve to say this is authentic. The wrestling and clinch do look good however. We also saw new people, Jon Jones model was updated
    Thiago Santos
    Hermanson
    Davidson Figueroa
    Dominick Reyes
It was just a run-down of things that we knew from the beta.
Looks like they haven't fixed GnP auto posture down or how limited it has become.
At least it wasn't misleading like the UFC 3 "gameplay" trailer

Pretty much. So really ment for the audience that hasn't been in the beta and that wasn't able to see beta footage because EA keeps taking it down. Nice to see some of the TDs people might have missed I guess.
To be honest I didn't see anything to further push my previous decision to pre - order .
If anything the copyright struck grappling video between Usman vs Woodley convinced me totally.
IMUHBOXER's video on the controls solidified my pending purchase for me .
In other words good job on the trailer but let familiar faces take it from here . Let Martial abd the others talk about the new features. Put up deep drives on the website .
    Thanks .

Nothing different from beta as I expected. Ea is never going to change tko scenario and ref interation.
I'm not going to buy it this time. UFC1,2,3 were enough.

I just take issue with how the game aims to look so realistic but we can't get too realistic with the damage system cause we don't need people rage quitting when they get flash KO'd. Or a stamina system that makes sense.

Well let's at least give them the benefit of doubt , and wait till launch day and see what it's like.

I mean, I do. I like this franchise and I have been here since day 1. Unlike many, I don’t think we are going to see a better MMA game if EA loses the license. I don’t really want that anyway.
I just wish the core mechanics would aim for realism rather than having to appeal to everyone.

    True .

It's kinda weird . Because now more than ever there are multiple ways to take the fight to the ground. Which is kind of weird because most of the players of this game prefer to keep it on the feet.
Either way that reminds I saw masvidal kick Usman off him from immediately from a takedown . I wonder how that will work in game .

It is a little humorous how many times Authentic is said in this trailer but Hayes refuses to change an unauthentic TKO system.

Yeah, It's the funniest part of the trailer.
I didn't really enjoy the beta and while the trailer doesn't really change my opinion, I'll stick pick up the game just on principle of it being the best UFC game on the market. Wasn't a huge fan of UFC 3 either but its all gradual steps in the right direction.

I'm sure they won't change any damage system because they're always aiming for casual fans who love arcade gameplay.

That’s what they want which will allow them to continue catering to middle school kids and ignoring realism

Depends how you define the realism. Its more realistic in the sense that the clinch game isn't so stationary, that the takedowns are now so dynamic. There are definite areas of improvement.
    tissues250

Stamina system is still awful. Reyes got his full stamina at 4th round.

Devil's advocate: they jacked up the stamina to record clips and not worry about gassing.
Really doubt they played naturally and recorded an hours or so worth of footage for the trailer.
I think the reveal was ok and pointed out a lot of improvements.
Improvements like making a UD3 with todays grafics was clear not the goal and if tbh why copying if some things could be done new and i really like the new clinch and takedown system. Its dynamic. The Groundgame should also be a kind of that and not so static but there will be changes in future too.
    Short up i like it...
3:24 I'm almost certain thats Sterling submitting Sandhagen.
    3:36 Deiveson subbing Alexandre Pantoja
1:50 Tatiana Suarez giving Randa some clinch business up against the cage.
Marketing for this thing could be a lot better man ,gameplay trailer that doesn’t show much but old models and gameplay that almost everyone has seen and complained about in the beta . Gameplay trailer that shows everything we know from the beta already ??? seriously there was backlash why not show career mode , do a in depth tutorial, character creation, give us a scoop on what’s to come ,some dope kos and brawls this time to put peoples minds in a better state.
Like the trailer was cool I guess but I played the beta and literally know all of this and I’m pretty sure 100k+ people know to since views all over social were pretty high above 100k for this game. I thought this was going to show gameplay like they did ,glimpses to career ,Joshua and fury fighting ngannu and stipe gameplay in there and maybe some other fresh stuff.
I have so many cool ideas for a trailer after a beta and this doesn’t come to mind but nonetheless thanks for keeping us in tune
Hopefully marketing is better. I got 100 ways to generate hype and get people excited.
Not buying it day 1, no chance in hell. Im interested to see what the devs can do with the patches over the coming months but half of the comments here and on YouTube are complaining about the finishes, lack of blood, lack of ref animations etc etc...... really disappointed it has not been addressed even slightly from the Beta it seems. Its clearly one of the bigger issues that i wish was addressed & fixed by now.
On other points i think it would be nice to get a takedown struggle system like UD3, as i think it would add a nice touch to the grappling exhanges. Also as tissues250 pointed out the stamina is still broken, its really just a hot pile of trash in its current state. Just give us sliders or a simulation mode like UD3 if you want to please all the casuals, but judging by the comments on YT even casual fans can see this game is not worthy of being a sequel.
Call it EA UFC 3.5 for half the price and i will buy it day one as thats more honest marketing. Sorry if its harsh just being honest.

I think this is gonna be the first game I pass on for the time being. I usually buy each game at launch.
I honestly hate the whole backyard thing They want to setup the game as “as real as it gets” aside from a few ppl on the roster who came from backyard fighting 98% of them are martial artists or wrestlers first. It only further paints the picture of “human cockfighting” that the sport struggled so hard to get away from years ago.
Kumite thing is a gimmick if I’ve ever seen one. While cool in a way I would’ve much rather seen a pride mode instead. You know something the sport actually had in the past. Something that is an actual part of mma history. 🤔
The red flashy lights, if anything it makes it easier for you to get finished by letting your opponent know when you’re hurt. You can’t even hide it anymore.
Unless they do some serious re-evaluating on putting the hardcore fan first. (Not holding my breath) I’m gonna wait til it’s released for next gen. Hopefully in some sort of GOTY edition w minor improvements to frame rate and textures. As good as I think this game is I still don’t think it’s $60 good. N if it’s not released on next gen then I’ll buy it when it’s 20 like the rest of the games are down the line.
    tissues250

Stamina system is still awful. Reyes got his full stamina at 4th round.

You should put exactly zero stock into that. During the Santos-Walker sequence the clock indicates they’re in the 5th round with more than 13 minutes left

EA Marketing team: "EA UFC 4!!! Featuring current MMA referee Yves Lavigne... wait. Hey guys, we'll just be honest with you. This is actually just UFC 3.5 but we still need your support. Please donate $60 and we will send you EA UFC 3.5 featuring an updated roster and new clinch animations. We have kids to feed. Please. Help."
Was hoping to see Big Nog, Cro Cop or Fedor in this trailer or a surprise Pride Mode.
I'm really starting to worry about Nogs inclusion - bummer too because he's know for his dirty boxing and I was excited to use him with the new clinch system.

Because in the beta under the fighter quotes screen for your player card you can equip a quote from Fedor himself. Seems weird to include a quote from him and not have him in the game.
The quote literally says Fedor under it

Great points about the arenas and the whole human cockfighting comparisons. I personally could not care less about about them including it not one bit, but here’s where my entire issue lies. The whole thing about budget and time constraints i don’t doubt exist for the devs, but someone’s head in management of the entire projects direction is clearly is all over the place in what they wanted out of the series. Example below:
EA UFC 1-2 - More arcadey, varied finishes (Ragdoll elements) but flawed in technical depth. Understandable as EA were building the game from the ground up.
EA UFC 3 - Lets add more depth, but listen to outside parties like Joe Rogan who made a passing (but accurate observation) and remove the entire ability to finish a fight on the ground after a KO happens, because it somehow not realitic depiction of the sport in someones mind. Then shock horror, you received tons of backlash, what a damn surprise. The real and obvious issue itself was how stupid it was the ref stood there doing nothing not intervening, not the follow up strikes. But EA being EA buried their heads & make the most idiotic blanket fix, trying to defend it initially, then caved after months into adding some actual ref animations.Which still only work just half of the time which i may add.
EA UFC 4 - Lets add Kumite and backyard brawls with a mortal kombat feel, to more best accurately represent the sport of MMA..... instead of taking 2.5 years fixing/including the vast majority of what people have been asking for, for years and years on end on the forums. Oh but the budget & time does not allow us to include a pride arena but awesome backyard fist fights & Kumite do, yeah makes so much sense.....
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You see how there is a big contradiction between EA UFC 3 & EA UFC 4. If your going to flip the switch then go all out and add cuts, swelling, proper physics driven knockouts.
Don’t sit in the middle constantly see sawing between what you want out of the damn franchise, jesus fckin christ. You even see it now with how they are pandering to casuals, but pissing off the hardcore fans undoing things stamina drain, making elements more forgiving, pushing simplified controls. Its truly bizarre to watch how this franchise has been handled quite frankly.

My God that exchange between Walker and Santos looked ridiculous. Same with Valentina who I don’t think has ever thrown more than 2 strikes at a time. Once again just putting emphasis flashy arcade nonsense. And why did Reyes look like Gregard Moussasi?

I'm still intrigued by the game and will, at the very least, definitely DL the trial of it on EA Access. UFC3's striking always felt a bit rock em sock em to me and was the primary way everyone online was a pressure fighter throwing out four punch combos with no worries.
Have there been any firm details on the backyard brawl/kumite modes? I know everyone is having a sadgasm over Adesanya's Mortal Kombat comment but I can't actually find much concrete info on it.
Also I'm looking forward to a career mode trailer (assuming one gets released) considering it's been a big topic in all the write ups.
I know people are disappointed by the beta but by this point you're all starting to sound like Forrest Whittaker in the 'he's pissing on us' scene from the Shield. You can always buy a 360 and UD3 if that was your gaming mecca.
Meh.........man I'm trying so damn hard to get excited about this game, I really am, guys. I'm usually not the negative type of person, and truth be told the wrestling and clinching aspect look amazing, I seriously cannot wait to use DC or Hendo, etc. I REALLY, REALLY wish Couture was in this game. I feel with the improved grappling and clinch game, I feel like I would be able to recreate his fighting style somewhat accurately. I just feel that other than these changes, theres not a whole lot else to look forward to. I dont know anything at all about the career mode, but I find it hard to get too hyped about it since in the other games, the career mode always felt like an afterthought. I'm still gonna buy it, just not as hyped up for it as I thought I would be.

Lol daily i hope for 2K or Yukes ****...
Do we have WWE players here? Can they raise they voices how „fantastic“ WWE 2KXX was?!?! 2K is one of the lazyest greedyest with microtrans right now so please hope better for ea keeping it and skip ufc4 and maybe 5 so at ufc6 all your wishes with draws, hits after ko, actual refs that are stepping in etc., are come true.
Why really this negativity that wont change anything to positive. Best thing you can do is skip it and done.

Don,t worry my friend, the meta game can,t be the same because the Ufc 4 striking system seems the same BUT iis much more fluid, accurate and solid than Ufc 3.
Keep in mind too the new clinch system THAT ALLOWS YOU to intercept strikes easily, even works versus combinations when you have better stamina than your opponent

Pretty sure Fedor is still under contract with Bellator.
    Would be some going if he was included in this because it would mean;
A)Bellator and Coker would allow it to happen
B)Dana would allow his fighters to get beat up on screen by one of the main attractions from another promotion. I just don't see it.
Although if we are getting Bellator fighters in can we get Lyoto please EA!

In fairness, there are actually plenty of Bellator fighters in the current game and were even added after going to Bellator (Chael, Rampage, Tito, Wandy and Cro Cop).
Big difference is Fedor has never signed with the UFC. I'm pretty sure if he had, they could just use his likeness like they do anyone else who has ever been with them (it's in their contract that they can, with rare exceptions)
But for Fedor they'd have to do everything you said above. Go to him, get him to sign off which would probably mean some discussion with Bellator, etc. Doubt it's worth the hassle for the UFC.

Yeah I did notice this in the beta, strikes felt weightier and the nonstop combos were taken away. I scored a few knockdowns with a well-placed stiff jab and KO's with a straight right over the top of a jab, so I'm looking forward to that side of things.
The clinch was cool too but I had little idea how to defend anything.

They could be saving it. But I agree. If he were, they will make a big thing out of it.
Why even quote Fedor when you don’t care for Pride and act as if MMA started when Conor & Ronda Rousey started fighting tbh.

Anyone else blown away that you never see anyone from EA (past or present) acknowledge when things are going poorly? I mean, look at the comments for the game play trailer on YouTube.
It's not a bunch of OS people commenting there. This is the general public looking at this game and sharing their concerns. Why not acknowledge this?

It's amazing the guy keeps coming back and engaging with this community. He doesn't even work at EA any longer. He's been here for years taking feedback of this forum (and the EA forum before) and trying to implement in the game.
Cut the guy some slack for not slamming his former employer online.

    I appreciate your commitment.
Reading this thread, it’s pretty clear that some of you have unrealistic expectations for video games.
And probably also a flawed understanding of how development teams are structured, how money is allocated, how adding something like the Kumite doesn’t mean chopping TKO’s from the game, etc.
I’m just as passionate about wanting realistic TKO’s, Ref interaction, Seated Cage, Transition Subs, Pride mode, etc. as most.
I’m positive that GPD is too along with other Devs on the team.

Im excited for some things like the takedowns, clinch, gnp but the only thing I wanted to see in that trailer was the knockouts and ftf sequence with ref stoppages I feel it doesn't flow and feels almost robotic. That dropping on one knee knockout looks so fake and guys going unconscious every gnp ko is unrealistic if those issues are ironed out Ill preorder this game but as of right now I can wait for it on sale
it was interesting to see the amount of comments that aligned with what people have been saying on here. i would have assumed the YT commenters would have been more casual in their comments.
also, has there been any announcement of when we are going to get more info?

As far as the general public goes, I bet this is a pretty impressive trailer.

For me I believe it is to it’s nice and some cool stuff but it’s really weird to put out a gameplay trailer talking about things in the beta and nothing new imo. With the backlash from the community I would try to build something that would gain the love and momentum back , show something fresh off or show gameplay with an in depth tutorial of moves we haven’t seen yet

99% of their market didn't participate in or even know of the beta.
Plus the gameplay trailor was probably produced prior to the beta and is part of a larger launch plan. Most likely that the marketing team doesn't work super close to the development team, but I can't pretend to know that for sure.

This is what I am saying, if they fix this immediately we have the greatest game to date.
    Counter Punch
As far as the general public goes, I bet this is a pretty impressive trailer.

If you read the comments on Facebook from the UFC page, not just EA UFC, you will see otherwise lol. Even the casuals know that some of the things they see in the game like cheesy knockouts and frozen referees look

It’s weird that’s all. Gameplay trailer after beta doesn’t make sense to me. Marketing team should do a sit down with Brian Hayes and talk about the game and talk questions from the community.

I got the same. Actually great trailer if you didn't play the beta. Unfortunately, all i saw was:
"great new sub system" - Nope, it's broken but should be easy to tweak. I don't like how much the minigame covers the action though.
"Authentic exciting ground and pound" - nope, i am not a fan of the posture up and unable to transition out with an auto break posture after a certain time.
"Exciting finish the fight when your opponent is hurt" - Nope, i turned off the red colouring in the beta and me the game instantly better.
I have the game preordered and still looking forward to it but that trailer didn't do anything for me. I'm looking forward to the ea Access early trial and doing the tutorials to learn the different systems in place. I'm loving the clinch as well. It looks like when we know how to use it, there will be some nice opportunities from it.

Agree that and a pride mode would make this the best game to date!!
I really wish they would remove the HUD from the submissions and just make it based on a rumble alert.
Offense = if you feel the rumble you know your covering their bar.
Defense = if you feel the rumble you know you’re being covered.
There greater the rumble the more direct your being covered, slight rumble might be a partial cover.
The closer we get to finishing the sub, the more the camera zooms in on the the action
The system can still apply under the hood. We just wouldn’t need the graphic.
Then we can actually keep our eyes focused on the fighters and it doesn’t feel as much of a departure from the actual fight

Im not sure how its an unrealistic expecation as a potential consumer that a video game made in 2020 on a console generation later, compared to a previous generations console made 8 years ago is leaps and bounds worse in the fight finishing department. Especially when its been a constant complaint since the start of EA UFC 3 and especially that this game has been in development for 2.5 years.
Did they improve FTF aspects somewhat yes, but its still laughably bad. Scroll through the YT trailer and you will see how many people are complaining of how bad it still looks if you dont believe me.
One example out of many, how can someone get TKOed on the ground and then just violently cut into a dead animation pose without any gradual transtion in terms of the animation. It looks incredibly stupid and even GPD being the lead gameplay developer noted that he advocated to get it changed for a long time but whoever makes the higher up decisions at EA did not greenlight the implemenation of having the dev team fix it.
There is obviously a disconnect with whoever is managing the project at the higher level and its pretty clear because its not just being asked for in these forums alone. Go scroll through Reddit, look at YT and you will also see. Infact i will help you:

Pride would be awesome, but I don't think Hayes is interested in adding it. Instead of a homage to the most exciting era of MMA, he wants to make people believe the sport was established in Kimbo's backyard.
Jokes aside, I know how much is required to do it justice. I just wish he had shown excitement to add it down the road.. in EA UFC 8 or something.

NAILED IT, let continue to push this fight on EA
Strange vision of the portrayal of the sport is my biggest concern with this franchise. And obviously opinions differ, but this one in particular makes no sense to anyone.
Sad to know that it was suggested a change and someone thought it would look better this way.

Here. Throwback to EA UFC 1. Everything he says in this video screams simulation. Now look where we are headed.

I dont get how hard is it to make this "pride mode" like how expensive can it be? The lady announcer? Bas Rutten? Like how expensive are these guy...they cant be very....they arent some huge star's announcing UFC fights every night where they have any pull, are they more expensive than Masvidal/Izzy? Or DC? There is no way...the rest are literally just re skins of modes we already have...
I feel like for EA to take a game serious it needs their trade mark UT mode, which is their money maker, i know from a customer point of view that im basically telling them to micro-transaction us to death, but i also think its what will provide them with a bigger budget and shorter dev cycles, 2+ years for something that looks like a big patch on other games is crazy right now and i think its budget related.
Also the whole CAF/ranked needs to be figured out, it feels like every release its just random decisions that lead to poor results(as seen from ufc 3 and now 4)

Here is my thing, what is the point of Pride mode if the knockouts and TKO is trash? It won’t be the same like UD3 if they throw in pride, without fixing the real major issue.
Am I the only one that doesn’t care about pride ? Lol like I’m fine if they just gave us an organization with pride RULES and not pride itself. Pride is old as hell with fighters I don’t care about using and fighters that they can’t license anyways but if EA made an organization from scratch to put in offline modes and online modes with pride rules I’ll be fine with that . Especially when it comes to career mode I don’t care about organizations already built essentially it doesn’t even have to be pride, strikeforce, WEC and stuff like that if they created their own organizations from scratch I wouldn’t even mind that TBFH. Make up organizations we can use and mess around with. Make up an organization with pride rules. I don’t mind at all because at the end of the day I get what I want and that’s to stomp people on the ground

Yeah I don’t get the obsession with PRIDE mode either. It’s basically just a different arena with a few different rules. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Is it cool to have? Sure. I thought it was a nice addition in UD3, but it’s certainly not something I’d ever view as a selling point or a ‘must have’.

Yeah I really don’t want to play as big nog or little nog , axe murderer or any of the other guys tbh. Were in 2020 and modern fighters today are completely different animals look if they just created an organization in career mode and for any of the other modes and they had pride set of rules man I’ll be fine with that but I honestly don’t care for Pride itself or their fighters back in the day.
It’s the rules I care more about but if I didn’t get it I wouldn’t lose no sleep
I want legends badly, because that’s the era I started watching UFC (Chuck Liddell is the most important obviously). But I don’t want them in if it means guys/gals in the top 15 of each division (if applicable) don’t make it in.

At minimum, they should create a Hall of Fame Legends list. Any fighter in the Hall gets a legend character in the game.
Personally, I've been dying to use Randy Couture since EA MMA. And especially with the clinch and wrestling revamped, a guy like Randy can actually fight as he normally would IRL.

Well thats what im saying.. there are a lot of other things to fix/add before anymore arena's or modes like pride mode....
We literally lost UT mode cuz the devs are not very competent when it comes to thinking that part out, they thought that adding roster skins into a caf mode was a good idea.. should tell you everything you need to know based from that...Thats on top of them now adding CAF's into ranked, so its like a double yikes.
Probably be UFC 6-7 we will have a solid base if it doesnt get reworked by then and we have to start from the start again.
Everything just seems like it has no consistency, the controls are changing, the clinch is changing, the sub system is changing, the CAF system could not be more erratic from game to game basis, hard to try and build hype around a bunch of unknown's.
There was so many good suggestions from EA UFC 2 CAF UT mode, but they took 0 from it and went the roster skins route, and now look, no UT mode at all cuz it was dead on arrival.

I Believe legends should be patched in not created during the creation process. Creating legends takes time away from modern fighters that deserve the attention and glory then the old fighters that been there done that and past their times as UFC Fighters. Who really is going to use an old legend? because I guarantee you Me and many others have not used not one legend during any of the EA UFC games.
And why put legends in the game when there’s still a lot to do towards character uniqueness. I would much rather them work on modern fighters and getting their specific animations done rather than trying to go back get old legends into the game which will cost money to acquire the likeness , watch videos to get their move sets down to the T and craft the prime body. Idk it seems like a waste of time. I truly believe legends should be the last thing on the list to put in the game. Same with fedor he wasn’t even in the UFC ,Bob sapp like why him lol , lil nog why , chuck won’t even have his stance and moves right and many others it just seems like a waste of time. I want top 15 and prospects.
As for pride I don’t care about. The Pride rules I can about more. I wouldn’t care if they decided to not recreate pride but make their own pride rules organization.
Everyone asking for PRIDE rules, it takes a lot more than just re skinning things. They would need to add a ring, and have interactions with the ring vs a cage. There also would need to be animations added for knees to the head on the ground in various positions, soccer kicks from various positions, head stomps, etc. There are people here upset about missing animations and positions in this game already. What do you think this game would look like if it had PRIDE rules but the same budget? Probably worse than you think it looks now.

You calm down a little guy. When a player gets a game and he doesn't like something, the players start asking to fix or add it, this and this. But when several years pass and the developer does not give what the players have been asking for so long, anger is a completely normal reaction. This is nothing personal. I'm not saying Geoff is a bad developer or anything like that. I want certain things and I talk about it. And it's absolutely normal when a player is unhappy and gives his opinion. Though rude in places. But this does not mean that we do not respect the development team. This is a signal - PAY ATTENTION, WE WANT EXACTLY THE DIRECTION OF REALISM or I WANT AN ARCADE GAME. And that's it. And the next time you decide to address people in public, do not forget to wear a T-shirt

The Absolute Biggest Travesty out of seeing all those EA UFC trailers, is the lack of a proper Replay System.
So many things were developed to make the game look good and feel real(visualy wise), yet we can't pay attention to those details, because we lack a proper Replay System.
On top of that, the game is 30fps with Motion Blur, so those little details, are mostly ignored/unseen.
Personally, I was ready to look past the visuals/reused animations/stand-up mechanics of EA UFC 3, because they were solid, only expected a bit more tuning and polish, but knowing that most of the previous assets would be reused, I was at least expecting the few additions that would be in the game, to completely WOW me and to be well-thought and polished. Unfortunately they mostly failed on that, from my short experience with the beta.
They somehow downgraded the way the ground game feels, let alone looks and the G&P feels as if it was thought and developed in a couple of days and patched in before the Beta dropped... The Head Movement they added on the ground game, is again a poor excuse of an animation for a head movement, it's not analogue controlled either like Undisputed had, it's a timed flick, which creates issues in online matches with the extra input lag...
(We Have ANALOGUE STICKS, this isn't A PS1 game, and it's CASUALISED it to the point where you input a transition and behaves as if it was an Arrow Button, even on Legacy controls, instead of an Analogue stick transition. Nobody asked for such horrible changes. They feel nonsensical and only seem to exist for them to excuse as having tuned something and justify "New Game = Changes" and the new casualised approach they took.
This Unfortunately has been an issue with the ground game since EA UFC 2 compared to Undisputed's ground game. I loved the base they had set with EA UFC, but the transitions felt terrible, they didn't feel analogue and responsive and now they got the 1 dimensional controls they were designed for.)
Such lack of polishness, especially when 90% of the game's assets are the same, is unacceptable and deserves nothing but negative criticism.

Dude, if you know everything from the beta, tell me how to do double underhook position in the clinch. Thanks

Can’t give you an answer for that , the text you quoted was just me wishing they would show a tutorial or some more than stuff we already knew.

You complain about the trolls but you give them exactly what they want with this video. Don't take everything on these forums too seriously. Nobody hates the devs we are all just passionate mma fans. I start to think you like the attention man... I hope you doing well, take care of yourself.
    Exactly!

Cancel a takedown with RT to get double underhooks.
Edit: I'm pretty sure I'm wrong, and it actually goes into over under from a cancelled double leg, and back clinch from a cancelled single leg.

I can't understand why in an MMA simulation game, they would take out features in a game. There's no double under, no transitions from postured up, no subs from postured up. There's still less features than Undisputed 3

I think that thinking that ea ufc is going to be an mma simulation is where the you’re making your mistake haha. I’ve given up thinking it’s going to be a simulation game. They’ve decided on the direction they wanna go and I don’t believe it caters to the simulation crowd

Do you think this is not? Most likely there is, just almost no one knows how to do it

Geoff has said multiple times that canceling the takedown puts you in over/under. Not double under. As far as I know, there is no position where you can double under for control. Double underhooks are part of some takedown animations.
