EA Sports FC Pro, the official esports program associated with EA Sports FC, has announced a new addition to its global in-person tournaments called “FC Pro Draft.” Starting with the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, the FC Pro Draft introduces a squad building system based on budgets and features dynamic rules for roster management. With changing requirements throughout the season, competitors will have ample chances to showcase their gaming expertise and creativity while constantly refining and adjusting their rosters as they strive to reach the FC Pro World Championship.
By utilizing FC Pro Draft, each participant will be tasked with operating within a predetermined budget to select Ultimate Team player items for their team rosters. The budget allocation for each item is determined by the player’s EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team Transfer Market value. Competitors will need to carefully assess each player in relation to their Transfer Market price, introducing a fresh facet to the process of building squads in the realm of football esports. These criteria will vary according to the specific competition, leading to distinctive team compositions for each event.
“Ultimate Team players are all familiar with the trials and tribulations of squad building,” said Sam Turkbas, Senior Director & Commissioner, Football Esports, EA. “By introducing FC Pro Draft, we’re adding a layer of skill and strategy for the pros while also giving EA SPORTS FC 24 players even more relatable content for how to put together a championship-caliber roster on the virtual pitch.”
The draft tool will be accessible to the general public through the FC Pro website, enabling fans to construct their own squads following the identical requirements as the participating competitors on a weekly basis during FC Pro Open. This feature allows fans to actively engage in discussions, assemble their favored squads, and engage in discussions regarding which items should be included in their Ultimate Team Squad.
FC Pro Draft is set to make its debut at the upcoming FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, taking place live in London, UK, from November 10 to 12. This event will feature 64 players, including the standout performers from the FC Pro Open Regional Qualifiers and invited EA Sports FC professionals. They will all be vying for the opportunity to secure a spot in the FC Pro Open regular season and ultimately, a chance to qualify for the inaugural FC Pro World Championship scheduled for June 2024.
