EA Releases NHL 26 Patch to Fix 6v6 Crash Issues

6v6 is seemingly being fixed.

If you’ve been playing NHL 26 over the past few days on PS5 or Xbox Series S/X, you’ve likely experienced a couple of crashes. The biggest culprit seems to be the game’s 6v6 EASHL mode, which has been crashing repeatedly whenever players try to start a match. EA has addressed the issue, and a new patch is rolling out tomorrow at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET to address the crashing.

During the update, EA states that servers will briefly go offline. The developers also recommend completing any ongoing online matches before the downtime begins to avoid any issues. Reports of the bug flooded Reddit and Twitter over the past week, with a lot of users claiming the game crashes completely on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Some were able to fix this by restarting the game, while others had to completely uninstall and reinstall.

Other than this, a lot of people also faced errors when trying to add XP multipliers before a match. Hopefully, this patch addresses that issue as well.

EASHL’s 6v6 mode has been one of NHL 26’s key features, with a fully team-based online experience that mimics (or at least tries to) real hockey’s intensity and coordination. It’s great for both casual and competitive play, and surprisingly a lot of fun with friends. With each player controlling specific positions on the ice, matchmaking stability and server reliability are really important here.

In case you haven’t jumped into the game in a while, we did just get a big update for it on October 1. That update brought visual upgrades, updated uniforms, and a ton of other unrelated fixes to other modes in NHL 26. It looks like EA has its hands full squashing bugs for the game this month.
