EA FC 26 Update 1.5.4 Addresses Career Mode, UI, and Performance Issues

Late season push.

A new update for EA FC 26 has gone live. Title Update 1.5.4 is live, bringing a mix of fixes across Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and general performance.

While this isn’t a massive content-heavy patch, it focuses on improving overall stability and ironing out some frustrating issues players have been dealing with. Career Mode, in particular, sees some meaningful fixes, including adjustments to CPU sliders and youth player generation, both of which have been common complaints within the community.

On the other hand, Ultimate Team also receives minor UI improvements, while Clubs and general gameplay benefit from bug fixes and visual updates. PC players will also be glad to see performance-related fixes targeting frame rate drops during matches.

Overall, this update feels more like a quality-of-life patch rather than a gameplay overhaul, but it addresses enough pain points to make a noticeable difference for regular players.

Here’s everything included in Update 1.5.4:

Ultimate Team

Made the following changes:

  • Improved UI selection when viewing Player Items in a New Releases tab.
  • The Actions button callout was unavailable in New Releases when using the Compare Price function.

Career Mode

Addressed the following issues:

  • Addressed an issue where CPU Slider settings would reset to default after relaunching the game and loading a save.
  • An incorrect team would display when starting a new Manager Career with an Icon Player.
  • Youth player height generation has been adjusted to ensure more realistic and balanced prospects.

Clubs

Addressed the following issues:

  • The Objectives button opened the FC HUB instead of the Objectives screen.
  • Addressed instances of misaligned text.

General, Audio, and Visual

Made the following changes:

  • Updated some trophy images, boots, kits, ad boards, overlays, crests, logos, star heads, hair, backdrop sponsors, anthems, stadiums, hair, banners, flags and scarves
  • [PC] Addressed some specific cases that caused game performance to drop to low frame rates after the second half.

Addressed the following issues:

  • Addressed various stability issues that could have occurred.
  • Addressed instances of text not appearing.

While Update 1.5.4 doesn’t introduce new features, it’s a solid maintenance patch that addresses key issues across multiple modes. For players invested in Career Mode or Clubs, this is a welcome step in the right direction.
