EA FC 26 Live Tuning Update Refreshes Authentic Gameplay Presets

Authentic gameplay refined.

An EA FC 26 Live Tuning Update has just dropped, refining the “Authentic” Preset to deliver a more realistic football experience. Tuning Updates are a new thing in EA FC 26. It allows them to tweak the two different presets without the need to drop a dedicated Title Update.

The update mainly targets the Authentic Preset, which is focused on realistic football simulation. While Competitive presets still cater to faster-paced online matches, the Authentic preset is now tuned to better replicate real-world football pacing.

This update comes after extensive community feedback about the issues with the Authentic Preset. Hopefully, this tuning update balances and fixes the main issues.

Because this is a tuning update and not a title update, the changes made to the Authentic Preset are not enabled automatically. In the tweet from @EASFCDirect, when you see the message for the Live Tuning Update, make sure to restart EA FC 26.

Then, to trigger the updated Authentic Preset, first change the Gameplay type to Custom and then back to Authentic. This will ensure that you are using the updated Authentic Preset in the game. Yes, it’s a bit weird to have to manually switch Presets to enable the updated settings. But that’s how it’s done for the time being.

It’s important to mention that this Live Tuning Update only impacts the Authentic mode. The competitive mode remains the same — the classic, fast-paced EA FC that we are used to.

Overall, the Live Tuning Update is a thoughtful refinement for players who prefer tactical, realistic football. It’s another example of EA’s recent focus on fine-tuning immersion and realism, making the game feel closer than ever to the real thing.
