EA FC 25 Ultimate Team: Top Cards to Use at Each Position Right Now

If you’re like me, you want your squad to be full of the best and most expensive cards on the market. The new Team of the Season cards are on the horizon, so before that, let us look at who the best player in each position is now, in EA FC 25 Ultimate Team.

Keep in mind, the “best” player isn’t necessarily the highest overall rated. Individual stats matter, and some stats are more important for certain roles than others. For example, defensive players don’t necessarily need great shooting stats. Pace is a universally good stat that we should always consider. Without further ado, here are the best players in FUT that I see frequently when I’m on the pitch.

EA FC 25 Ultimate Team: Best Players For Each Position

GK: Icon Lev Yashin

Yashin has everything you want out of a goalie. His diving and hands are great, and he generally feels good to use. Since he’s an icon, he has chemistry with everyone as well and can fit nicely into any squad. Unfortunately, he isn’t cheap, going for just shy of 500,000 at the time of writing. Nevertheless, Yashin will likely be one of the best goalies as EA FC 25 is active.

RB: TOTS Trent Alexander-Arnold

Alexander-Arnold has been a staple RB for many years and gets a feature as a Team of the Season card in EA FC 25. While he isn’t the fastest back, he is extremely well-rounded. He makes excellent tackles, handles the ball well, and is a solid shooter and passer coming out of the backfield. He also only goes for around 90,000, which is much cheaper than most top players.

LB: TOTS Nuno Mendes

Mendes feels amazing to play with. He’s incredibly fast for a back, and he does an excellent job making tackles and gaining control of the ball. He’s not quite as well-rounded as Alexander-Arnold, but his pace more than makes up for what he lacks in other areas. He’s only about 225,000 to buy, which isn’t cheap, but well worth the cost.

CB: TOTS Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk has been one of the best defenders in the game for many years, so it’s no surprise that he makes another appearance here. Rocking a stellar 97 defense and 96 physical rating, he doesn’t allow much to get past him. He’s surprisingly quick and agile for his size and defensive capabilities as well. If you can front the 500,000 cost, he doesn’t disappoint.

CDM: TOTY Rodri

Rodri is one of the most expensive players on the market, at a cool 1.38 million. That’s what the best defensive midfielder in the game is worth. He’s fast, he has an excellent 94 passing rating, and his defense rating matches van Dijk’s at 97. Being from the Premier League, he also has nice chemistry options with other top-rated players like van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold.

CM: TOTY Aitana Bonmatí

Coming in at 800,000, Barcelona’s midfielder is a pricey option, but she’s an offensive powerhouse. She comes with a 97 dribbling and 95 passing rating, as well as 90 pace and 92 shooting, meaning she moves the ball very effectively up the field and can score when given opportunities.

CAM: UEFA Dreamchasers Ruud Gullit

Ruud Gullit is only available via completing an SBC, meaning that you cannot get him off the transfer market. If you want him, you will have to complete every leg of his challenge. He is an icon, so chemistry is not an issue with him, and he’s well-balanced in terms of stats. His numbers may not be eye-popping at first glance, but he’s an excellent shooter and passer who is also capable of making good defensive plays.

LM: Fantasy FC Marcus Rashford

When I see a player with 99 pace, I generally always want them on my squad. Marcus Rashford has that, along with 95 dribbling and 95 shooting, making this card a clear choice if I want to use an LM. Unfortunately, at 1.46 million, I haven’t quite been able to afford this one quite yet.

RM: Flashback Nicolas Pépé

This card has 5-star skill moves and a 5-star weak foot, along with a well-balanced stat line. His passing game is a bit lacking, but his dribbling, pace, and shooting more than make up for it. He’s a very offense-oriented player, so keep that in mind if you plan to bring him to the pitch.

LW: Showdown Plus Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati boasts a 99 pace rating and a 96 dribbling rating, making him a fantastic choice for moving the ball up the pitch. He also has a 5-star weak foot, making his shooting and passing consistent. You cannot purchase Fati on the transfer market, you must complete an SBC if you wish to unlock his card.

RW: TOTS Mohamed Salah

To put it simply, the asking price on the transfer market speaks for the value of this card. Team of the Season Mohamed Salah is going for 3.08 million. He is undoubtedly one of the best cards in the entire game, and he has good chemistry with other good players who are from the EPL. On top of his fantastic stat line, he has 5-star skill moves and 4-star weak foot. If you’ve played him or played against him, you know the price tag is justified.

ST: TOTS Harry Kane

Perhaps one of the only cards that goes for a higher asking price than Mo Salah is Team of the Season Harry Kane. This card is insanely good. Along with the 99 shooting stat, he has 5-star skill moves and a 5-star weak foot, making him a scoring threat anytime he has the ball. If you can shell out 4 million coins on the transfer market, you can experience the magic for yourself.

So there you have it, some of the best cards for each position. Keep in mind that there are plenty of great players, and choosing the best one for your squad also takes your tactics, formation, chemistry, and personal preference into account.
