EA FC 25 Team of the Week 29: Star Performances as the Home Stretch Kicks Off, and One EA Missed Out On

Let's take a look at the performances that shaped Team of the Week 29 in EA FC 25, and see who was snubbed from the list.

The EA FC 25 Team of the Week 29 dropped last week, with plenty of stellar real-world performances from players helping them earn their own special digital selves this time around. With the men back from their final international break of the European season, and the women about to leave for theirs, we are into the final stretch run where the stakes of every match are more clearly defined. With teams battling for safety, promotion, and continental qualification, here are five players who made big impacts for their side and one who deserved an In-Form card of their own.

Lineth Beerensteyn Scores Four

It’s not often that an offensive player can miss a penalty and still find themselves sitting on any specialty teams, but it’s not often that an offensive player misses the easiest possible goal and then still scores four goals. After all, the thing about not scoring five goals because you missed a penalty is that you still. Scored. Four. Goals.

While a six-point lead for Bayern atop the Frauen-Bundesliga table, and a five-point gap to fourth place Leverkusen, means Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg are only fighting for where they enter Europe, that’s not to say the tight battle is meaningless, as second place will secure direct qualification to the Champions League groups. If Wolfsburg is going to avoid the jeopardy that comes in qualifying playoffs, more games like this from Beerensteyn will go a long way. She was dominant with her head, perhaps striking it with her foot was the big mistake on her penalty attempt, and showed she can still knock home the odd shot with her foot, too, as Wolfsburg were comfortable winners over Essen to keep the pressure on the Eintracht unit.

Arnaud Kalimuendo With A Brace

Things are getting a bit tense at the bottom of the Ligue One table, and with Rennes slipping dangerously close to regaining a place in the conversation, a match with Angers was a chance to both deny a team chasing them down and score some quick points to reestablish a buffer. Arnaud Kalimuendo made sure that Rennes did just that as he was a nightmare for the Angers defense throughout Rennes’ critical 3-0 win.

He got things going with a beautiful strike to open the scoring in the first half, curling home a lovely effort from the top of the box. He would technically play a part in the second, too, though to be fair, a lot more of the credit goes to the wonderful work of Ismael Kone to open a shooting lane and lash home from outside the box. Kalimuendo appeared to put the game to bed with a tap-in goal to make it 3-0, only for an offside to call it back. It was short-lived relief for Angers, however, as another Kalimuendo tap-in would stand as valid shortly after to round out the decisive victory and a great day for the Frenchman.

Aldana Cometti Plays Architect

When you think of Madrid football, there’s one side nearly everyone will go to first, and another an inevitable second. Neither of those sides is Madrid CFF, but that’s not to say the smaller Madrid number has not carved out its place in the women’s game in Spain. Established in 2010 and a member of the top flight since 2017, Madrid CFF are in the process of securing a mid-table finish this year, and a Team of the Week-worthy performance from Aldana Cometti against Real Betis is to thank for their latest win.

Cometti kicked things off for Madrid CFF with a long assist out of the back line, playing a ball over the top for Barbara Lopez Gorrado in the 62nd minute. It was an eye-catching bomb of an assist that completely caught Betis out. To settle things down once and for all, Cometti added a more traditional goal contribution for a center half, nodding home from a corner kick with five minutes to play to make the points secure.

Frederico Dimarco’s Stellar Wingplay

Out of the team with injury since playing just 50 minutes against Napoli on March 1, Frederico Dimarco returned to the lineup for Inter against Udinese and immediately reminded fans what they’ve been missing. A dangerous wing back can be a nightmare for opposing defenses as their ability to get down the wing and cut back dangerous crosses keeps your defense under constant pressure. It was a pressure Udinese could not contend with against Dimarco.

It was the wingback playing provider for Inter’s first, getting in behind the Udinese back line and firing a ball across for Marco Arnautovic to just about manage to get enough on to force it over the line. By the thirty-minute mark, it was already two, as Dimarco again was able to get in space behind and play a ball that would be easier not to finish. While a cautious return saw Dimarco brought off on 62 minutes to manage his reintroduction to first-team football, it was a more than telling contribution in his reduced minutes.

Roman Celentano Does An Impression Of A Wall

It’s still early season in MLS, meaning it’s a bit early in the parity-friendly American sports landscape to definitively say what the end-of-season stakes will be for any teams, but three points are still three points whenever you get them and whichever fight they end up being a part of come fall. FC Cincinnati’s Roman Celentano did just about as much as a keeper can shy of keeping a clean sheet in his side’s 2-1 victory over Nashville SC.

Goalkeepers usually find themselves on the EA FC 25 Team of the Week one of two ways — penalty heroics or an absurd day of run-of-play saves. Celentano decided to be extra sure by doing both. He made five saves on the day, and somehow, the penalty stop may not even be the best among them, even if it’s always a show-stealing effort. Instead, the real highlight came with a terrific double save late to preserve the Cincinnati victory and an additional two points that Nashville did all they could to snatch away.

Who Was Overlooked? – Ayoze Perez

After spending recent seasons hanging around the edge of the European picture, Villareal are hoping that 2024-2025 will see them back into the biggest competition Europe has to offer. With Spain looking likely to finish second to England and earn a bonus Champions League spot, that task has become more achievable and turned into what is currently a two-team dogfight between Villareal and Real Betis. With every point crucial in the scrap, Ayoze Perez can perhaps feel a bit overlooked for his two-goal contributions not finding him with a special edition this week.

Perez’s fingerprints were all over the first goal. It was a deft Perez touch near the top of the box that diverted the ball perfectly into the path of Tajon Buchanan before dashing into the box to receive the return pass and tap home. His work on the second was even more beautiful, scooping a lovely ball over the top to Thierno Barry to give Villareal a crucial second goal to secure the win and maximum points as they enter the final sprint-off against Betis.

Who were your top performers this week? Did they make the cut or are they on the outside looking in, waiting for another chance at next week’s team?
