EA just revealed the patch notes for the upcoming EA FC 25 Season Finale update, which seems to be the game’s last major shakeup before developers fully shift gears towards the still-unannounced EA FC 26.
True to that, the patch is set to bring balance/cosmetic updates, the inclusion of four new Player Career ICONs —Birgit Prinz, George Best, Johan Cruyff, and Garrincha— and the debut of a new Ultimate Team Season Pass featuring what seems to be both a cheeky nod to a viral moment and a new PlayStyle meta.

The most notable gameplay-related changes from the Season Finale patch are the nerfs made to the goalkeeper-exclusive Rush Out PlayStyle and the accuracy increase given to uncontested headers. Here’s an overview of all of the Season Finale patch notes, as listed by EA on the game’s official site. Before you can ask, the ground pass boost is confirmed not to affect driven passes.
- Moderately increased accuracy of Ground Passes for players with high Passing related Attributes.
- Significantly reduced effectiveness of goalkeepers rushing out with the Rush Out PlayStyle, and slightly reduced that effectiveness for Rush Out PlayStyle+ players.
- Slightly increased accuracy of contested and uncontested headers.
- A new season and Premium Pass in Ultimate Team.
- Increased the maximum number of PlayStyles+ UT Player Items can have up to five.
- Updated Player Career ICON selection.
- Refreshed Career Mode UI for Fixtures and Results.
- Refreshed the main menu with a festive celebration theme.
The upcoming FUT season will debut on June 5 and will, apart from enabling a fifth PlayStyle+ addition to some cards, bring a new wave of rewards to players. As usual, you will be able to gain access to the Ultimate Team Premium Pass by purchasing it for either 1,000 FC Points or 500,000 Coins. All of the evolutions featured within the pass are also confirmed to be available for up to 96-rated players.
