EA FC 25 Player Proves Icon Pick SBCs Are a Waste of Time

Icons in EA FC 25 are often some of the best available players in the game, but as the years have gone on, the number available has increased, with a high likelihood that the Icon you get your hands on won’t be worth the outlay.

Packing an Icon itself is difficult enough but the task of packing one actually worthwhile is nigh impossible, so Icon Pick SBCs may be tempting as they offer a guaranteed Icon in return. However, it’s been made clear you should avoid these challenges like the plague.

One player posted on Reddit their returns from 20 Icon Pick SBCs, all of which are untradable. There wasn’t a single Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, or Ronaldinho in sight. Instead, the results were incredibly disappointing.

The best return was 94-rated Winter Wildcard Mia Hamm, which costs about 1.2m on the market, but she’s not the most popular choice when building a squad. Unfortunately, that card was the highest value received—and they couldn’t even cash it in on the market.

The other returns included Didier Drogba, Ronald Koeman, Xavi, Gianluigi Buffon, and Roberto Baggio, which sound great if you’re building a real-life dream team but are not worth the outlay in EA FC 25, with the majority being very affordable.

Adding more salt to the wounds was the six duplicates received, which had to be discarded or used in other SBCs as they couldn’t be traded, and none of them were cards you’d really want to see appearing once, let alone twice or more.

While it was a painful experience for the player who threw together this experiment, it has done the community a favor by showing that, no matter how bored you are, you need to steer well clear of Icon Pick SBCs.
