Drake has somehow taken another L when it comes to Super Bowls. The Canadian rapper placed a huge $1 million bet on the Super Bowl LX matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. This bet ended costing him that amount after things didn’t go the way of his bet.
The ‘Nokia’ artist wagered on the Patriots to take the win at the Super Bowl. However, much to his dismay, they were beaten in a fairly dominant fashion, 29-13, by the Seattle Seahawks. The loss left Drake with one less million from his bankroll after putting the amount at stake.
The Seahawks came prepared for the Patriots and defeated them across all fronts. A defensive masterclass from the team saw them completely outclass their opponents on the biggest stage. You have to consider the ‘Drake curse’ as well in the equation, which means whichever team the rapper bets on loses. It seems that the infamous ‘Drake curse’ came for the Patriots, and they fell victim to it.
Drake Urged Someone To Go Against His Bet
Drake placed his huge $1 million bet for the New England Patriots to topple the Seattle Seahawks with confidence. He uploaded a picture of the amount he placed on the online gambling app, Stake. The Toronto rapper even urged anyone to go against him.
It seemed like the ‘Hotline Bling’ artist was hugely confident that this bet was going to go his way. He even urged anyone to go against him. The rapper wrote on Instagram for someone to bet against him if they dare, coupled with some cheeky laughing emojis. Unfortunately, this confidence didn’t pay off for him.
At first glance, it wasn’t entirely the biggest mistake one could make, since the Patriots had seemed strong all season. The team was riding a high of momentum on the back of Drake Maye and Stefon Diggs to deliver. However, in the end, the Seahawks’ defense was too strong for them to penetrate it.
Drake’s Huge Bet For Patriots Win Backfired
The New England Patriots loss led to them missing out on launching another successful dynasty for themselves in this era. It also led to Drake missing out on a huge payout for himself as well.
At least the good news for the ‘God’s Plan’ rapper is that he’s back, placing bets at Super Bowls. Drake decided not to make one last year, considering his rival, Kendrick Lamar, would diss him at the Halftime show. He’s yet to break his unlucky streak of betting on the outcome and cashing in some money.
