  1. Very cool - definitely looking forward to seeing the game play trailer.
I could spend a lot of time customizing these unis and such - my kids will probably spend an eternity doing that.
Obviously it is very early on, but the player models seem very very appealing. I dont care much about the graphic detail, just the players looking like "real" players on the field.
Also, the customization seems super in depth, I think it will be perfectly possible to play a bunch of seasons without the need to create "real" schools, since this fake ones are kinda cool.
Im curious to see how location, conference, prestige, improve/decrease the chance to secure better prospects.

In-state recruiting, various school ratings, and conference quality make a big impact if the recruit values those things. It can be the difference in "moving the needle" 5-10% each week or not moving it at all. It's a great challenge and makes for a rewarding process when you land someone. Or, you know, wanting to destroy another team for taking your recruit the following year...

Spear, what are the chances of pride stickers next year? Appreciate all the effort and feedback.

The way textures are done on the new consoles are more complicated than the PS2/Xbox era. It's something that is on the wishlist but it's low on the priority list.

Depending on how deep the logo editor is, i may just attempt in making the real fbs schools logos.

If you join the discord server some guys have already started creating logos for that purpose with step by step instructions.

Good stuff. How many team reveal videos will there be? Also, is there any chance for thicker or more helmet stripes? I think I've only seen the same stripe choice from last year. An Ohio State helmet stripe, for example, doesn't seem possible in DFMF. Is that correct, or did I possibly overlook that?

Same stripes as last year. We didn't have time to completely overhaul textures for this year's game.

West Carolina looks like Clemson but Clemson is a city - how come you weren't able to name it so like similar teams with city names?

It's possible "Clemson" is trademarked by the University, despite it also being a city. Omitting it keeps them out of legal trouble that way, since Clemson or their representation has not granted them a license.
The good news is, you can change it to the proper name in the editor.

Possibly, in the field of a sports team perhaps. I remember Abercrombie trying to sue a school because they were producing hoodies with their school name (Hollister) on the front because that was the town, but it was overturned because you can't copyright a city name. Might be in a sports sense, but then MF2019 has Cincinnati and Missouri in there no problem so who knows.

I was curious, so I hit up Google. According to their Licensing FAQ:
"Clemson University has registered 19 different marks, including the word “Clemson,” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Any mark that is intended to represent Clemson University is the property of the University."

How many total team reveal videos will there be?

Maybe another 8 or so. We'll see...maybe do a larger reveal to wrap them all up. No specific plan, we only have two other parts assigned to content creators at the moment. Need to give out the rest.

THIS^!!! Yeah having No PC version at all is so stupid! PC gaming is bigger than it ever has been, heck even EA realized this and brought madden back to PC last year... first time since 08. It boggles my mind how an Indie team decides to cut off a possible source of income especially PC the platform the game is being developed on and it has been on PC the last version. SMH
Game looks cool hopefully its good. I cant play it anyways even though I'd have them take my money they are refusing it for some odd reason

The developer popped up the other day (developer meaning one guy) and said that it's hard anyway, but when they've done it before PC tech support becomes a full time job and takes away from the product so it makes sense not to at the moment until they have way more people

PC sports games are not a profit source. They are a cost center. They do not generate even 1/100th the revenue of the same sports title on console, yet they generate all the support requests. Tech support for PC's becomes a full time job with no return.
Spending my time doing tech support for Canadian Football 2017 on the PC had a negative impact on the development of Maximum Football 2018.
    thank you.

Didnt mean to come off super angry... just sucks to have another alternative to EA limited to what console you do or don't have.
Like I said before game looks good so far and I hope it succeeds but I wont be able to support it this year unfortunately. I've already told a few people who have PS4s about it so maybe they will pick it up.
I understand they don't want to run tech support but with most titles I've owned on steam the community usually does a better job of troubleshooting any errors than the devs anyways.

Cool. Buy a console. If you can afford a PC, consoles are cheap.

has anyone got a list of the teams so far? or do we have to watch the videos?

We have a channel on the Discord with all the photos. There are some on the Instagram as well. The guys on the Discord have been keeping track of the teams too.
I have it on my long to-do list to post them all in a centralized place. Just haven't done that yet.

Hey Spear, with me being a native of the Hill City, it is my duty to inform you guys that you all spelled Lynchburg wrong.

    We'll update it before release.
So...why are some teams really accurate to their real-life counterparts, but others are not? Central Michigan, for example, wears maroon and gold. Middle Michigan's colors in the game appear to be blue and yellow? Why is that?
Really some great improvements in gameplay from last year. Excited to see how this game develops in upcoming years!

The developers can not answer your question due to obvious ramifications. Knowing they can't answer your question because of thoes. Should indirectly give you the answer to your question.

YES, PLEASE. I’m pumped for this game, but I just can’t do it with the fictional teams. I refuse to play any game with made up teams. Not a knock on the devs at all, I just can’t get into a “fictional world.” I don’t mind editing uniforms, actually I kind of enjoy it. But I know that I’m not nearly good enough with the in-game editor to accurately make any of the logos. I’m PRAYING that someone will do it and upload how-to videos to YouTube.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no way to upload logos online. There are no online features whatsoever.
    scottyo60
Is there by chance going to be a data share for users?*

Nope it is a completely offline game. No online features in any aspect.
IMO people go overboard with the minutiae, eye black, wrist tape, cleats- but having said that any college sports game is more than just having the hash marks correct, its about atmosphere and play books and rivalry intensity. If they can duplicate this without names, logos, stadiums and commentary that will be a tremendous feat. I am  skeptical but I will buy on day 1 anyway.

Oh man! That just killed it for me.
I guess it’s like the old days of ps2 ncaa where people will be selling real team edits online?
Any reason why no server for data sharing? I don’t care about online play, offline would have been fine with data share option.

What I'm hoping for as a community is that we go ahead and post roster stuff as well as logo tutorials up for free as to help people get as close to the NCAA clubs as possible.
But yeah, were going back to the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube Days kinda here.... nothing wrong with that in my eyes, as it doesn't have certain things that bog down sports games these days.

While a full blown realistic college roster/logo set would be great I’m likely going to use the existing logos/color sets/rosters and just rename each team to match the real life counterpart. It looks as if many of the teams are very close in terms of colors/mascot/location.
Finally, a game that is real good football moves and not bad graphics. But also able to edit uniforms, roster, and everything love it without the legal aspect. I like the canadian football add too. Alot of diversity. Thanks for all your hard work. Will the logos on the field be able to edit as well including endzones and logo in middle of field?
