The MyNBA Eras addition to NBA 2K23 is a brilliant way to add a layer of freshness to franchise mode, and it’s something we hope to see in all sports games at some point. The custom rosters on OS through the years have at times been ways to try and do era-specific rosters without the help of developers, and one of the people who has consistently been on the forefront of that movement is OS user MJWizards. He is a first-ballot HOF OS user, and he’s of course been eating up the MyNBA Eras and helping to add that added layer of accuracy to these Eras. He has now completed the 1983-1984 MyNBA Eras custom roster on PS5, which is of course the Bird vs. Magic roster.
With that in mind, I want to tell you how to download the rosters, how to support MJWizards, and highlight what’s in these rosters as well.

How To Download
Under 2K Share and the user-created roster tab, search for 1984 completed by MJWizards. It will be by someone with the Online ID of crazyh16. You can also download the 1984 Draft Class, which is 1984 Draft by MJWizards.
There have been a couple updates since the original release as MJ always tinkers as he goes. It’s never anything huge, but some of the latest little additions include an update to Alex English’s shot, a couple position changes, and he re-added a couple players because 2K put updated face scans on a couple legends.

- Accurate CAP for the missing players
- Accurate Shoes and Accessories for all the players
- End of the Season rosters
- Signature Style Fix for the most important players
- Ratings and Tendencies fix
- Accurate Rotation for all the classic teams
- At least 14 real players for every classic team, up to 15 if possible
- Head Coach real name and lookalike face, when available
- Extra CAP faces for licensed but not-scanned players
- Free Agents list with all real players active during the season: undrafted, waived during the season or guys that played in Europe or CBA.

All 23 teams are ready to rock, and the 1984 draft class is available, it’s just a separate download as mentioned above. And one small note for those unfamiliar with custom rosters in 2K, you can’t use these in quick play games, so to scope them out you do have to do the MyNBA Eras mode. For those folks not on PS5, there is no way to transfer these rosters to other platforms as of now. It stinks that only MLB The Show has cross-platform rosters among the big games right now, so we hope other developers get on board with this in the future.
1984 MyNBA Eras Draft Class
One of the other major selling points of starting in this Era is the fact that the 1984 draft class is stacked. Plus, with Charles Barkley not being licensed, he is one of the major additions to the mode as a whole. Overall, this is a great topper for what’s already an amazing roster.

Bottom Line
You don’t need these rosters by MJWizards to enjoy the MyNBA Eras mode, but with them you take an awesome mode to a whole other level. Whether you grew up in this era or not, you probably know plenty of the players and faces. These rosters just up the accuracy and realism, and you can still use whatever sliders etc. that you prefer to bring it home. You can thank MJWizards in the thread, and support him otherwise via the means mentioned above.
And, yes, he is also working on custom rosters for the other two Eras. He’s going in order, so next up is the Jordan Era. He’s completed about a third of that roster as of now, and when he fully finishes it we will let you know about it.
