Cavaliers guard Jaylon Tyson had a career night on Friday, scoring 39 points against the 76ers. But it wasn’t just his performance that got people talking. During his postgame interview, he made a bold prediction about his younger brother, NFL draft prospect Jordyn Tyson, and Cleveland fans are already excited about the possibility of a family reunion.
When asked about his brother’s draft stock, Jaylon didn’t hold back. Jordyn, a wide receiver who played two seasons at Arizona State, is projected by most analysts to be picked around No. 10. But Jaylon thinks those predictions are way too low.
“Oh, he’s gonna go top 5, he ain’t 10,” Jaylon said confidently, according to ClutchPoints. “He’s going top 5. I believe he’s WR1.” That kind of brotherly support has created serious buzz in Cleveland, especially since the Browns desperately need offensive help.
The Browns are in perfect position to make this family reunion happen
The Browns had a rough season, finishing with a 5-12 record. Their defense was actually solid, ranking fourth in the NFL. But their offense was terrible, finishing 31st in scoring. You can’t compete with that kind of gap between your defense and offense.
The good news is Cleveland has two first-round picks in the upcoming draft. They have the sixth overall pick because of their poor record, and they also own the No. 24 pick from the Jaguars, which came from last year’s trade for Travis Hunter. Having two first-round picks gives them a real chance to fix their offense.
Jordyn Tyson is already ranked highly on draft boards. One prominent analyst has him as the second-best wide receiver and around No. 10 overall. If Jaylon is right that his brother is WR1, that means Jordyn is better than Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, who is currently projected as the top receiver. Similar to how prospects pair with teammates, the Tyson brothers could reunite in Cleveland.
This puts General Manager Andrew Berry in an interesting spot. One recent mock draft had the Browns taking a receiver at No. 6, but it was Tate, not Jordyn. Now that a major Cleveland athlete has publicly called his brother a top-five talent, Berry might need to take a closer look at Jordyn’s game tape.
Berry is entering his seventh season as general manager. The team just fired head coach Kevin Stefanski after back-to-back losing seasons, and they’re now interviewing candidates like Mike McDaniel, Todd Monken, Jesse Minter, and Grant Udinski. Whoever takes the job will need immediate offensive talent, and if the Browns draft Jordyn at No. 6, Cleveland could get its family reunion. With NFL playoff excitement building and viral moments happening across sports, this storyline has captured fans’ attention.
