In the high-stakes world of modern football, “diving” is almost considered a dark art of sorts. Like it or not, they are as much a part of the game as a perfectly timed tackle or through ball. We see players dive all the time in the lower divisions, but it’s just as common at the Premier League or even at a Championship level, simply because of the high reward if players can get away with it.
It’s a controversial, polarizing element of the sport, but it remains a constant in Sunday League matches and Champions League finals alike. But does it work in EA Sports FC 26?
Diving Is Not A Mechanic In EA Sports FC 26

Let’s get this out of the way first: you cannot manually dive in EA Sports FC 26. Whether you are playing Rush or a simple 1v1 match against a friend, there’s no dedicated button to perform a dive. The game features sophisticated physics that simulate stumbles, trips, and genuine fouls, however.
EA wants to stay clear of this mechanic for several reasons, and it has never been a thing in any FC/FIFA game. Winning fouls this way would hurt sportsmanship, and EA does not want to damage the “E for Everyone” brand image. But seriously, imagine if it were a thing. This series is already toxic enough as is, and if EA were to add diving, the EASportsFC subreddit and forums would have a field day with it.
If it is a thing in the future titles, it needs to be a good implementation. A highly polished one, in fact. Diving would be a high-risk, high-reward function, possibly tied to a specific PlayStyle+ trait. It would require precise timing, and EA would also likely need to implement a referee “Strictness” rating.
The physics engine will also need to calculate the speed of the defender and the angle of contact to determine if a referee is fooled.
So, as you can see, even if you want this as a feature (I doubt many do), it’s way too hard to implement. It would also not go over well with the vast majority of players. In fact, EA has been going against these dodgy tactics for a while now.
The nerf to goalkeeper movement is a great example of this. To simply answer the question, no, you can’t dive in FC 26 to win fouls, and that’s likely for the better.
