The Best Pitches in MLB The Show 26

Before we start, keep in mind that the below were made taking into account each pitch’s success rate and ease of use while both online and offline. We will also be updating this piece once the game’s true meta is discovered, so stay sharp.

Cutter

Starting with my go-to fastball, the cutter is just as lethal here as it was on MLB The Show 25. Seen by many as the two-seamer’s other half, the pitch breaks slightly toward the opposite side (toward your pitcher’s non-dominating hand), thus enabling it to excel when baiting left-handed hitters or consistently targeting the upper edges of the zone.

Sinker

Following up with the franchise’s most infamous pitch, the sinker is once again unrivaled in MLB The Show 26, with its downward break allowing you to pinpoint the corners and fool batters with throws that look to be right in the middle until the very end. That also makes it the best tool for finishing tunneled batters. Unlike the Cutter, though, the pitch’s triple motion makes it one of the hardest to perform for Pinpoint Interface newcomers.

4-Seam Fastball

The 4-Seam is by far the fastest pitch in MLB The Show 26, as well as one of the only ones that seem to elude the game’s CPU (even on GOAT). When in online play, they can also be safe but situational bets for surprising batters when the count is high or when fishing for swings and misses during high-stakes moments. If paired with either the slider or the sinker, it can also excel when tunneling opponents later on.

Sweeper

Although fastballs can be more than enough when dealing with inexperienced batters or the CPU, being unable to mix things up is a death sentence against even slightly experienced hitters. That’s where the Sweeper comes in, with its slower speed and broader side spin making it the perfect tool for both tunneling the batter or forcing weaker contacts. Its true potential, however, can only be unlocked when paired with either Sliders, Cutters, or Sinkers.

Circle Change (Circle Changeup)

Ending with a way more situational pick, the Circle Change is by far the most reliable changeup in MLB The Show 26. After all, even if mimicking the trajectory and motions of the 2-Seam, the pitch will not carry its neck-breaking speed and will instead slowly make its way to the plate. Just make sure not to overuse this and to target the outside of the zone. Remember, it only takes one sharp batter to turn your ploy into a run.
